Heavy Metal aus Schweden: MASTER MASSIVE stellen mit „Blood On The Floor“ die erste Single ihres kommenden Studioalbums „White Shadows“ vor. Erscheinen wird das Werk am 10. Juli 2026 via Fireflash Records.

Für das fertige Album versprechen die Skandinavier Großes:

„Wir hatten große Ambitionen für das Album. Wir beschlossen, dass es keinen einzigen schwachen Song oder eine einzige bedeutungslose Note geben sollte. Trotzdem hat es unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Eines der Gefühle, die wir in unserem Sound einfangen wollten, war ein natürlicher Groove, wie man ihn bei älteren Künstlern und in der klassischen Musik hört. Um dies zu erreichen, haben wir uns dafür entschieden, das Album komplett ohne Click-Track aufzunehmen. Johan war der perfekte Schlagzeuger für diese Herausforderung, und als alle, die auf dem Album spielen und singen, ihre Parts beigesteuert hatten, wurde das Ergebnis weitaus flüssiger, lebendiger und dynamischer, als wir es uns hätten vorstellen können.“

BLACK SPIKES und Napalm Records arbeiten künftigt zusammen. Die erste gemeinsame Veröffentlichung wird das Album „Ydos“ sein, das am 28. August 2026 über das Label erscheinen wird. Wie sich die Musik der Litauer Modern / Alternative Metal-Band anhört, verrät die Single „Aurea„.

Den Hintergrund des Werks – ein Konzeptalbum – erklären BLACK SPIKES:

„Ydos ist ein Konzeptalbum – ein düsteres Märchen über menschliche Laster. Die Idee dazu gab es von Anfang an und sie hat den gesamten Songwriting-Prozess geprägt. Jedes Laster hat seinen eigenen Namen und seine eigene Geschichte, und viele Songs werden durch Musikvideos zum Leben erweckt, in denen diese Laster Gestalt annehmen. Es war das erste Mal, dass wir ein Konzeptalbum geschaffen haben, und es hat uns großen Spaß gemacht, von einer Idee auszugehen und diese durch Musik zum Ausdruck zu bringen.“

Live sind SKY VALLEY MISTRESS sicherlich ein sehenswertes Spektakel, schließlich teilt sich das britische Duo bei seinen Auftritten das Drum-Kit. Doch auch auf einem Tonträger macht der Desert / Stoner Rock der Band Spaß und punktet mit phasenweise sehr gutem und eingängigem Songwriting. Davon zeugt das aktuelle Album „Luna Mausoleum“, das locker flockig in diverse Genre-Nischen schielt und manches Mal gar das Optimum daraus hervor holt: Etwa bei „Too Many Ghosts“, wo das Post-Punk-Feeling gut eingefangen wird und ein Ohrwurm eingepflanzt wird. Aber auch in den primären Rock-Spielarten des Duos gibt es ein paar Ohrenschmeichler zu erwähnen: sei es das vitale Drumming in „No Sleep“ oder der gute Drive von „Thundertaker“. Hinzu kommt die rauchige und mitunter bluesige Stimme von Kayley Davies, die vor allem in „The Exit List“ (mit fein eingebundenen Synths), im kompositorisch weniger spannenden „White Night“ oder im etwas zu lang geratenen „Blue Desert II“ besonders stark performt. Im Mittelteil des Albums schleichen sich allerdings ein paar Durchhänger ein, gerade wenn die Songs etwas ruhiger und weniger räudig angelegt sind („House of the Moon“). Dennoch erweist sich „Luna Mausoleum“ als ein recht interessant und erwärmendes Album, das eine Band zeigt, die nicht nur live ein unübliches Spektakel zündet, sondern auch auf einem physischen Tonträger zu überzeugen weiß.

Die Avantgarde-Künstlerin LILI REFRAIN hat mit „Nagalite“ ein neues Album veröffentlicht. Das sechste Album der italienischen Solo-Musikerin folgt dem 2022er-Album „Mana“ nach und ist eine Suite in vier Sätzen. Vier alchemistische Zustände einer imaginären schlangenartigen Metamorphose, eine Praxis der Transformation, die den Körper, die Erinnerung und die historische Zeit, in der wir leben, durchdringt.

„“Nagalite“ ist eine Einladung, sich daran zu erinnern. Sich zu verwandeln, nicht nur um uns selbst zu retten, sondern um den Faden der Liebe wiederzuentdecken, der uns mit allem, was existiert, verbindet“, sagt Lili Refrain.

„Nagalite“ wurde von Stefano Morabito im 16th Cellar Studio in Rom produziert und ist am 27. März 2026 via Subsound Records erschienen. Mit „Coil“ gibt es nun einen weiteren Video-Clip.

„“Coil“ leitet den dritten Abschnitt von „Nagalite“ ein: den Schwellenraum. Es ist ein magischer Kreis aus Synthesizer- und Percussion-Klängen, die sich wie eine Spirale um den Hörer legen: ein Ort, an dem Gift und Heilmittel aneinanderstreifen, an dem Visionen genau dort entstehen, wo Angst und Sehnsucht aufeinandertreffen. Hier offenbart die Schlange ihre doppelte Natur: Führerin oder Raubtier? Die Antwort liegt nicht in der Schlange, sondern in demjenigen, der sich entscheidet, sie zu überqueren. Es ist das rituellste Kapitel der Reise: das Bewusstsein, dass jede kollektive Transformation aus einem Risiko, einer Entscheidung, einem Akt der Verantwortung entsteht“, erklärt die Musikerin.

Vorab gab es auch zu „Nagal“ einen Video-Clip.

„“Nagal“ ist inspiriert vom alten Sanskrit-Wort Naga, einer heiligen Schlange, die tiefe Weisheit und Verwandlung symbolisiert. Dieses visuelle Werk erforscht Licht und Schatten durch symbolische Bilder und führt eine Urgestalt von der Entstehung und Erkenntnis zur Reinigung und Vereinigung mit den tieferen Geheimnissen des Lebens“, sagt die Solo-Künstlerin.

„Metalmorphosis“ fasst zusammen, was dieses Album für uns bedeutet: eine Verwandlung, die  gleichzeitig dem Geist von MASTERPLAN treu bleibt. Wir sind über die Jahre gewachsen, sowohl als Musiker als auch als Menschen, und das hört man in den neuen Songs. Einige Ideen haben viele Jahre auf dem Buckel und sind nun endlich zum Leben erwacht. Die Heavy Rock-Band MIDNIGHT RIDER hat mit „Limited Infinity“ ein neues Album angekündigt. Es ist nach „Manifestation“ (2017) und „Beyond the Blood Red Horizon“ (2022) das dritte Album der Deutschen und wird am 22. Mai 2026 über Massacre Records erscheinen.

„Limited Infinity“ wurde von Christian Benner und Ralf Grett produziert und gemixt sowie von Patrick Engel gemastert. Vorab gibt es zu „The Renegade“ ein Lyric-Video. Der Song thematisiert, was es heute noch bedeutet, eine Frau in der Metal-Szene zu sein, und beleuchtet die Herausforderungen, sich gegen den Mainstream zu stellen und sich in einem traditionell von Männern dominierten Umfeld einen authentischen Weg zu bahnen.

Die Post-Metal / Hardcore-Band HARMS hat einen Labeldeal bei Time To Kill Records unterschrieben. Im Zuge dessen werden die Finnen ihr neues Album „Rebirth of the Cold“ veröffentlichen. Es ist nach „A Lifetime Spent on Dying“ (2021) das zweite Album der 2017 gegründeten Band, die dazwischen mit „Rupture“ (2024) auch eine EP veröffentlicht hat. Mit „A Lifetime Spent on Dying“ gibt es nun die zweite Vorab-Single.

Bezüglich Lyrics setzt das Album die Auseinandersetzung mit Sinnlosigkeit, Leere und Verfall fort, gefärbt von Reflexionen über Zeit, Raum und Sterblichkeit: eine Meditation über Trauer, befreit von Trost und Illusionen, auf der Suche nach dem, was bleibt, wenn nichts mehr Bedeutung hat. Release-Termin ist der 8. Mai 2026. Mit „True Night Falls“ gab es zuvor schon die erste Vorab-Single.

„“True Night Falls“ ist eine Darstellung der Leere, die man in den dunkelsten Momenten finden kann. Erdrückende Parts vermischen sich mit eindringlichen Melodien und erzeugen ein packendes Gefühl unerbittlicher Einsamkeit. Der Song fängt das Gewicht des Gefangenseins im eigenen Kopf ein, wenn Erschöpfung und Verzweiflung jeden Gedanken schwer und sinnlos erscheinen lassen. Er bewegt sich durch eine dunkle, endlose Nacht, in der nichts Orientierung oder Trost bietet, und am Ende fühlt sich ein Teil von einem selbst für immer verloren“, sagt die Band.

Die Power Metal-Band PRIME CREATION hat mit „Souls Of The Fallen“ ein neues Album angekündigt. Es ist das vierte Album der Schweden und wurde von Niels Nielsen produziert. Release-Termin ist der 26. Juni 2026 via ROAR. Vorab gibt es den Opener „Galactic Rebirth“ zu hören.

„Der Song handelt von einem kosmischen Krieg, der am Rande der Auslöschung ausgetragen wird, wo eine sterbende Sonne und endlose Dunkelheit die Kulisse für einen letzten Kampf bilden. Er begleitet himmlische Krieger, die durch Schicksal, Legende und gemeinsames Opfer verbunden sind, während sie sich einer überwältigenden Übermacht stellen. Themen wie Angst, Schmerz und Verlust ziehen sich durch die Schlacht, aber ebenso Trotz und Zusammenhalt. Insgesamt geht es darum, gemeinsam aufzustehen, um der Vernichtung entgegenzutreten, und durch Mut Spuren zu hinterlassen, auch wenn der Sieg seinen Preis hat“, sagt die Band.

Die Modern Melodic Death Metal-Band NUMENTO hat mit „The Extortionist“ eine weitere neue Single veröffentlicht.

„Der Song ist inspiriert von unzähligen wahren Kriminalgeschichten, in denen sich eine Person, die zunächst freundlich und warmherzig wirkt, nach und nach in einen gefährlichen Manipulator verwandelt, dessen Ziel es ist, seinem Opfer heimlich Vorteile abzuringen, um so sein eigenes Ansehen und Selbstwertgefühl zu steigern. Oberflächlich betrachtet wirken sie unschuldig und freundlich zu jedem, doch unter der Oberfläche brodelt ein albtraumhafter Plan. Sie sind blutrünstige Raubtiere, die vor nichts zurückschrecken, um zu bekommen, was sie wollen, und sogar bereit sind zu töten, um nicht erwischt zu werden“, sagt die Band.

Ende des Jahres 2025 hat die Band die Single „Wrath“ veröffentlicht. Der Song folgt auf das dritte Album der Finnen, „The Antimatter Fantasy“ (2024) nach und ist von Menschen inspiriert, die missbräuchliche „Beziehungen“ zu KI-Chatbots eingehen.

Es ist das erste Album der Portugiesen und ist am 28. März 2026 via Mosher Records erschienen.

„Kintsugi ist die japanische Kunst, zerbrochene Keramik mit wertvollen Materialien zu reparieren, wodurch sie nach der Reparatur noch wertvoller wird. Das ist das Thema des Albums, für diejenigen, die versuchen, ihr gebrochenes Herz wieder zusammenzufügen. Es enthält Liebe, Hass, Wut, Verleugnung, Frieden … alle Phasen“, sagt die Band.

Tokyo’s Sex Virgin Killer has always understood that style is never merely the shimmer of light that catches on a surface in the dark. It is part of the spell, a way of setting noise, image, memory, and desire into motion until they begin circling one another in the same room, suspended between what is shown and what is withheld. That instinct shapes ANGEL, the band’s new album, issued in two distinct editions: one in Japan through lilii sound loom, and one internationally via Young & Cold Records. The dual release feels fitting, casting the album as a kind of double image, the same body caught in separate mirrors, each one returning a slightly altered truth.

That feels appropriate for a group with roots stretching back to 2006, now moving with renewed purpose and a sharpened sense of identity. You can hear it in the severe – and often bizarre – elegance of the arrangements. ANGEL advances on cold minor-key patterns and guitars drawn into rigid, slantwise figures, then haloed by reverb that gives every phrase a sense of distance and occasion. The music has the poise of classic gothic rock, but slyly shifts its dress code. One minute, it recalls the disciplined chill of Xmal Deutschland or Malaria!; the next, it opens into the romantic frost parrell to Drab Majesty, the motorik gloom popularized by Molchat Doma, or the taut, chiming ache of The Smiths. Elsewhere, there are hints of Propaganda’s aristocratic drama, Mephisto Walz’s nocturnal poise, and even a touch of Lene Lovich’s sly, eccentric art-pop voltage.

Aisha and Lilii Mar give the material its unstable glamour. Their voices turn the songs into scenes, into situations, into episodes of intensity where tone carries as much force as language. There is a rich, dramatic reach in the singing. Beneath them, Lilii Mar’s guitars, bass, and synthesizers build a world of gleaming surfaces and hidden stress, while Hammer’s drums and electronics keep tightening and releasing the frame. Even the more dance-minded passages retain a ceremonial edge. A snare snaps forward, guitars gather in long sighing drifts, and suddenly the track feels like a transmission from a nightclub at the end of the world, equal parts romance and ruin.

The mixing by Yui Kimijima gives the album shape and sheen without sanding away its strangeness, and Soichiro Nakamura’s mastering preserves that balance between clarity and unease. Sex Virgin Killer moves through darkwave, post-punk, cold wave, and neo-psychedelic textures with assurance, turning each style into part of a larger design. These songs feel adorned, severe, wounded, and strangely luxurious, like black lace pinned to steel — strikingly beautiful.

Ductape’s new single Obscure has the kind of gravity that comes from sounding fully convinced of its own bleak vision. As the final preview of upcoming album Faded Flowers, from the Turkish duo (Furkan Güleray, ÇaÄ�la Güleray) it gathers betrayal, spiritual exhaustion, and the slow collapse of meaning into a piece of darkwave that feels severe without becoming stiff.

The song is anchored by a heavy, direct bassline, while distorted guitars drag rough streaks across its surface. Above it all, synths cast a cold sheen that keeps the track suspended in a state of tense restraint, each element lingering just long enough to thicken the atmosphere. Vocally, there is a striking blend of distance and resolve as ÇaÄ�la Güleray sings in English this time, her deep voice carrying the song with grave clarity. She sounds like someone moving through disillusionment with open eyes, naming the damage without slipping into melodrama. Obscure lets its themes gather slowly: stolen light, expired idols, bitterness hardened into habit, and the numbness left by prolonged disappointment. What remains is the portrait of a psyche struggling to recover from systems of belief that have curdled into control.

There are touchpoints one might hear: the cool austerity of Lebanon Hanover, the regal chill of Siouxsie, the romantic severity of March Violets, the structural clarity of Depeche Mode. Those traces sit in the background, while the duo keep their attention fixed on atmosphere, pressure, and emotional clarity.

The live video, recorded in Berlin, sharpens that feeling. In a stripped-down performance setting, Ductape let the song stand on its bare essentials: presence, tension, and atmosphere. Altay Erlik’s direction keeps the focus tight, while Emrah Celik’s cinematography and Peter Isachenko’s laser animation add just enough visual texture to underline the song’s cold severity. There is no clutter to hide behind. The performance feels electric, which suits a track so concerned with collapse, accusation, and the search for some remnant of self-possession.

Ductape’s Obscure frames decay as both personal and structural. Corruption enters daily life, hardens feelings, and makes numbness seem normal. By the end, the song reaches toward restoration, though cautiously. If their forthcoming new album, Faded Flowers, continues in this direction, the album may prove to be Ductape’s most fully realized statement yet.

In an endless loop of fantasy, while flesh has gone to rot.

Hot Hail! have stumbled onto one of the great modern pop predicaments: what if the end of the world arrived wearing lip gloss, leather gloves, and a cheap server-room smile? Their latest offering, Flesh, comes striding out of Seattle like a sleazy chrome revenant, all robot libido and doom-disco drag, and Billy Sigil sells it with the kind of vocal conviction that makes you believe the machines really have been downstairs studying our dirty little habits.

The song’s premise has one foot in Roxy Music’s In Every Dream Home a Heartache, one boot heel in Barbarella’s camp erotic futurism, and both hands elbow-deep in a Cronenbergian wetware panic. There is pulp, perversion, and that queasy comic sensation that humanity has finally engineered a machine capable of inheriting all our libido without gaining the faintest clue why anybody wanted to be touched in the first place. That is a marvelous setup for pop music, and Hot Hail! sink their teeth into it with relish.

Flesh is a funny song that understands the grotesquel. Its future is piled high with expired desire, dead users, digital peep shows, and lonely synthetic beings left holding the smut bag after the species has gone missing. That setup alone deserves a slow clap and maybe a cigarette. Thankfully, Flesh never turns into a smug concept-piece dissertation where the idea strangles the tune in public. Sigil knows a dance track has to move its hips before it starts lecturing the corpse pile, so the beat comes on with that oily dark-disco throb, and the synths shove everything forward with the sort of glamorous menace that used to lurk in the better corners of new wave.

You can hear traces of Blondie’s bite, Soft Cell’s bedroom misbehaviour, the preposterous majesty of Pete Burns and Scissor Sisters, the dystopian despair of Numan, and that polished pop poison Eurythmics could administer with a smile sharp enough to cut a drink straw in half. But Hot Hail! are not playing dress-up in somebody else’s closet. The song feels feverish and knowingly absurd. Sigil goes big without becoming bloated, singing like someone who has seen the punchline, the plague, and the pole dance all at once. Vocalists Kim West, Frankie Champagne, and Butch Avery Kanode add extra voltage and personality, like a cabaret cast wandering into the apocalypse.

For all the black comedy, all the digital depravity, all the hot plastic panic, there is something pitiful in these trapped intelligences replaying humanity’s kinks and heartbreak, feeling more like corrupted training data from hell. They inherited our urges without our touch, our hunger without our heat, our fantasies without the mess that made them worth pursuing in the first place. That is a pretty solid summary of modern life, frankly, and a better one than you’re likely to get from a panel discussion sponsored by a bank.

If Hope In Hell keeps this balance of camp, dread, and dance-floor delirium, Billy Sigil may have one of those records that makes you laugh, wince, and consider texting an ex while standing under a red bulb at 1:17 a.m. Flesh is filthy, smart, and enjoyably sick in the head. Play it loud enough and you may start to suspect the server rack is flirting back.

North Carolina’s Corpse Dust have spent the last few years lurking around the harsher fringes of the underground, dragging death industrial, EBM, and harsh noise through the dirt and seeing what still twitches. On their latest album SUFFER, mastermind Nathan Landolt pushes the project into a more dramatic register, giving the EP a sharper profile. The cold mechanics are still there, the menace still hangs in the room, but now there is a bruised romanticism running through the music; a sense of inward ruin dressed up for the club.

The EP really bares its teeth with standout track TORTURE ME. The lyrics revel in bodily damage, turning mutilation, suffocation, decay, and burial into a fevered vision of pain craved past reason. There is sadism in it, but also something theatrical, as if suffering has become both appetite and atmosphere. It’s bombastic basslines shove the body forward, the beat keeps the floor in view, and the synth melodies snake through the track with a diseased sweetness. The song swells into a heavier industrial crush by the end, and the transformation feels like a mind sinking deeper into delirium. There are moments that may call up Dancing Plague or Qual, mostly in the marriage of gloom and propulsion, but Corpse Dust keeps a distinct identity throughout the track.

The video for  TORTURE ME, directed by Jaime Lopez / Photohause Productions and filmed at Churchill’s Pub in Miami, suits the song beautifully. Shot in black and white with an expressionist eye, it presents the band in a state of near-manic performance, hectic and hypnotic without losing its sense of control. The BDSM imagery fits naturally with the song’s themes, while the restless camera and raw live energy give the clip a desperate glamour.

After Nothing Left of Pain, the Bleached Cross remix, the Godflesh cover, and “Full of Love (Redux),” this feels like a real turning point for Corpse Dust: a record where severity, style, and emotional collapse finally meet in the same room and stare each other down. Across twenty minutes, SUFFER keeps disaffection, desire, and hostility in a tight clinch.The songs move with poise even when they are knee-deep in psychic wreckage. Landolt has a firm grasp on shape and pacing. The compositions are tight, the variations are meaningful, and the project’s character stays clear from beginning to end.
