Bevor sie nach Südamerika zurückkehren und ihre Darkness Over X-Mas Tour fortsetzen, veröffentlichen CALIBAN eine Coverversion eines Songs, der ihnen allen sehr am Herzen liegt – „You Only Live Once“ von Suicide Silence. Beide Bands tourten 2009 und 2016 gemeinsam.

 

„You Only Live Once“ war für uns immer mehr als nur ein Song – es ist eine Erinnerung daran, was diese Szene verbindet: Ehrlichkeit, Intensität und Brüderlichkeit. SUICIDE SILENCE und Mitch haben eine ganze Generation der Heavy-Musik geprägt und unzählige Bands inspiriert. Wir haben im Laufe der Jahre viele Konzerte zusammen gespielt und hatten immer eine gute Zeit – auf der Bühne und hinter der Bühne. Mitch war einer dieser seltenen Menschen, die überall, unermüdliche Energie und echte Freundlichkeit ausstrahlten. Mit unserem Cover dieses Songs möchten wir ihm und seinem Vermächtnis unseren Respekt zollen – ein Vermächtnis, das uns daran erinnert, laut zu leben, ohne Reue. Für Mitch. Man lebt nur einmal.

In front of around 6,000 fans, the Halle Münsterland was buzzing with energy from the fans who had travelled there. Two days earlier, the band had been in Hamburg, and the day before that in Berlin. But frontman Henning Wehland has the most respect and anticipation for the concert in Münster. “This is the most important concert of my career,” he says.

Die Thrash Metal-Band THE PROPHECY 23 hat ein Video zu „Fresh Metal Fights Fascism“ geteilt. Der Track ist vom aktuellen Album „Mosh O’Clock“. Es ist das fünfte Album der Deutschen aus Heilbronn und wurde von Kai Stahlenberg in den Kohlekeller Studios produziert. Release-Termin war der 15. August 2025 Massacre Records.

Im August stellte die Band ein Lyric-Video zum Titeltrack ihres neuen Albums vor, anschließend folgte ein Video zu „Chill Em All„.

After two years of radio silence, London-based darkwave project Affet Robot returns with a new release that feels less like a comeback and more like a resurrection from the depths. Kan ve Kül (Blood and Ash) isn’t a whisper from the past—it’s a detonation. There’s a pulse inside this track that claws its way out of the ruins, determined and unflinching. This isn’t hesitation; it’s catharsis. It’s the sound of someone breaking the dam and letting the flood roar through.

The track opens with synths that throb like an air-raid siren for the soul. Beneath it, a bassline prowls—thick, relentless, and hungry—while the drums land like thrown bricks, each hit measured but merciless. Over it all, Gunsan’s voice cuts through with startling clarity, as if bearing witness to a world both collapsing and reborn. Sung entirely in Turkish, his delivery carries a raw intimacy, a tension that English could never quite contain.

Lyrically, Kan ve Kül is a hymn from the ashes—bloodied, but defiant. The wounds it speaks of are real; the atmosphere heavy with dust and doubt. Yet this isn’t a plea for deliverance. Gunsan sings from within the storm, unflinching, his voice rising through the debris. Faith falters, the ground trembles, and still, there’s motion forward. Beneath the soot and grief, a spark endures—the stubborn beauty of resilience.

Kan ve Kül feels like a transmission from someone who’s survived collapse and decided to sculpt something sacred out of the wreckage. It’s industrial without sterility, emotional without sentimentality. The song builds its own cathedral out of distortion and reverb, and when it ends, the silence that follows feels almost holy.

Produced in South London, Kan ve Kül bears that city’s mechanical precision, tempered by a Mediterranean heart that beats hot beneath the circuitry. BarÄ�ş Ergün’s mix gives it weight and tension—the low end roomy but never loose, the synths slicing through shadow. Gianni Peri’s mastering lets the track breathe without dulling its sharpness. The cover artwork, photographed by Gökay Çatak and designed by Öykü Özünal, evokes a world where ruin and beauty coexist—just like the song itself.

Affet Robot is the musical project of Gunsan Erdem, a producer and multi-instrumentalist originally from Turkey and now based in London. Since its formation, Affet Robot has carved a space in the international darkwave and synth scene with its fusion of cold electronics, melancholic melodies, and Turkish lyricism. The project draws on the legacy of 1980s synthpop and post-punk while carrying the emotional and cultural depth of Erdem’s roots. Each release feels like a transmission from two worlds colliding—the mechanized pulse of the West and the aching soul of the East. With Kan ve Kül, Affet Robot reaffirms its place as one of the most vital voices bridging that divide.

Die Symphonic Metal-Band CATALYST CRIME meldet sich mit neuer Musik zurück. „Cursebreaker“ gibt es als Video bei YouTube, den Hintergrund erläutert Sängerin Zoë Marie Federoff (ex-CRADLE OF FILTH):

„Dieses Lied wurde von der Geschichte der Mutter meines Mannes inspiriert. Sie war Teil eines Widerstandsnetzwerks hinter dem Eisernen Vorhang in der damaligen Tschechoslowakei und übersetzte heimlich verbotene Literatur ins Tschechische, bevor sie deren Verbreitung unterstützte. Ich habe meine Schwiegermutter leider nie kennengelernt, da sie vor über einem Jahrzehnt verstorben ist, aber alles, was ich über sie gehört habe, zeichnet das Bild einer Heldin mit einem Herzen aus Gold, die dazu beigetragen hat, die Welt um sie herum zum Besseren zu verändern – die ultimative „Fluchbrecherin“.

Das zweite Studioalbum der Formation soll im Frühjahr 2026 via Massacre Records erscheinen.

Ottawa’s Touched Fables (Paul Anthony and Jim Roditis) write with the kind of precision one expects from those who have seen the architecture of despair up close. Formed in 2022, the duo mines the deep seams of post-punk and darkwave with an attention to structure, tone, and emotional economy that recalls the exactitude of early Ultravox and the metallic discipline of 80s industrial like SPK and Front Line Assembly. Their debut full-length, A Thousand Goodbyes, is a document of disquiet, a study in emotional erosion.

“We’re not only referencing classic post-punk bands, but we’re also mining the same territory as more contemporary acts like Twin Tribes and Drab Majesty,” says Anthony. “The harder sound on this album also helped me find my voice… I consciously tried to sing with more sustained tones compared to the last release—less clipped.” His admission hints at a technical evolution, but the outcome feels less like expansion and more like distillation: a purer, colder signal from the heart’s machinery.

A dirge turned confession, In Your Eyes peers into the emotional residue of betrayal and memory’s persistence. Its melody tilts uneasily, bending through unexpected key changes that evoke the vertigo of trying to love through distortion. Anthony’s delivery is both intimate and remote, his voice draped in a metallic hush, echoing through the ruins of what was once connection. The guitars shimmer like a failing signal, while the synths pulse with the fatal calm of resignation. It recalls the early Clan of Xymox aesthetic, yet the tension feels personal, almost forensic.

With Burning, the duo sharpen their industrial edge; the song is a study in guilt, desire, and the collapse of communication, a relationship set alight by its own deceit. Metallic percussion and serrated basslines grind against the gentler synth chords that rise in the chorus. The song’s architecture mirrors its emotional core: mechanical precision wrapped around human fracture. Channeling Front Line Assembly, PIG, and Skinny Puppy, the verses smolder with paranoia before erupting into a synthpop chorus that feels like the brief relief of confession.

A song of devotion built on decay, Cenotaph imagines remembrance as a form of imprisonment. The lyrics trace a lover’s image frozen in time, embalmed by obsession. Eerie synthesizers hum like power lines over an EBM rhythm that marches toward oblivion. The track’s tension lies in its contradictions: cold textures carrying deep reverence, and the worship of what has already died. There’s a glacial beauty to its detachment, something between Depeche Mode’s late-’80s darkness and Gary Numan’s industrial solemnity.

Elsewhere, A Thousand Goodbyes opens up into moments of stark beauty. With Sunlight Falls, the album exhales. It’s the quiet moment after grief’s loudest hour; a gentle surrender to impermanence. Built around ambient synth drones and soft percussive murmurs, the song captures the tender ache of a love that has already left the room. Anthony’s voice softens, almost fading into the arrangement, as if acceptance requires a loss of self. It’s less a lament than a sigh of understanding; grief observed from a respectful distance.

In Forever, yearning turns into ritual. The song moves like a heartbeat, its rhythm steady and searching. Glimpses of coldwave surf guitar punctuate the chorus, introducing a strange brightness that cuts through the gloom. It’s the sound of someone looking back at love with both affection and exhaustion. Forever dwells on the paradox of connection—the idea that something can end and still endure, looping endlessly through memory’s echo chamber.

 

Tears I Cannot Hide reads like an autopsy of desire, sifting through emotional residue: the guilt, the longing, the what-ifs. Unusual chord progressions pull the listener off balance, while Anthony’s voice floats between confession and calculation. The guitars ring out in mournful restraint. Beneath its beauty lies unease: the recognition that love’s remnants are often as corrosive as its absence.



Quiet and deliberate, What Could Have Been examines loss as something procedural. Synths pulse like fading lights, their repetition mirroring the obsessive cycle of regret. Anthony’s vocals are hushed, nearly spoken, as if recounting evidence from a dream he no longer trusts. It’s a mature, subdued meditation, less about heartbreak and more about the quiet acceptance that some stories end mid-sentence. The restraint is striking; it feels like the emotional still point of the album. Never Let Me Down occupies the space between devotion and doubt. The song builds its tension slowly, layering a subtle industrial hum beneath fragile vocals. The result is a portrait of trust unraveling by degrees. Channeling industrial-era Gary Numan, the duo use that mechanical template to explore something achingly human: the exhaustion of faith in another person.

A storm in form and function, Harsh Rain channels remorse through rhythm. The song’s EBM foundation gives it a percussive urgency, but the melody carries the solemn grace of a eulogy. Choral synths rise through the mix, transforming grief into something oddly communal, a ritual for the emotionally stranded. Danceable, yes, but never escapist; every beat feels like a pulse of remembered pain.

The album closes with Bird of Prey, a bilingual reflection on captivity and belief. Moving fluidly between English and French, Anthony uses the image of a caged blackbird to explore repression, beauty, and the frailty of faith. The guitar tone blurs toward shoegaze textures, thick and luminous, while his voice recedes like prayer. The song ends in a kind of suspended motion: neither despair nor deliverance, but something quieter: understanding.

The Sum of All Wounds by Touched Fables

Touched Fables build their world not through grand gestures but through precision and control. Every tone feels reasoned; every silence, intentional. A Thousand Goodbyes studies grief under a microscope, revealing its anatomy with analytical grace. The result is effective and exacting: a meditation on absence, rendered with the clarity of thought and form.

Just a week after Touched Fables celebrated the release of their debut album A Thousand Goodbyes, life imposed a sudden silence. A serious illness struck Roditis’s family, halting the band’s momentum overnight. “Any plans to play more shows were cut short, and weak immune systems meant staying home and avoiding large crowds. We obviously took a long break from music,” recalls Paul Anthony.

Months of uncertainty followed before the duo found their footing again. “Almost a year later, we were able to return to the stage and started working on new songs,” Anthony continues. “There was a huge turnout at our second gig, and I think our unintentional absence actually created some anticipation here in our hometown of Ottawa. Playing live was also a great way to test out new material…We took this knowledge back into the studio to fine-tune our new album, The Sum of All Wounds.”

For Roditis, that forced hiatus became a kind of recalibration. “The gap year gave us time to evaluate and plan where to go next,” he explains. “Those live shows were key. We realized we could write a mix of ‘listen-at-home’ tracks and others that really worked well on the dancefloor. Staying true to our premise that Touched Fables is the music we wish we could have made when we were younger, two years after our debut puts us around 1988, when early industrial records were emerging from Europe. The percussion on this album reflects that era, and the guitars are much more prominent and aggressive.”

Now back at full strength, the band is preparing a series of performances across Montreal, Toronto, Hamilton, and London, Ontario.

Roger O’Donnell has always moved in slow revolutions, and never in a straight path. He began as a restless teenager in London’s East End, “born next to the piano and never moved very far away from one,” playing cabaret clubs and making a living however possible. A chance meeting with drummer Boris Williams led him to the Thompson Twins, then the Psychedelic Furs, and ultimately to The Cure, where his keyboards became central to Disintegration —an album that reshaped the emotional vocabulary of pop and alternative rock.

His new solo record, Projections, which arrived on October 29 (his birthday), sounds like a measured breath drawn after decades of noise. It is both an extension and an examination: a tracing of lines back through half a century spent at keyboards, stages, and soundboards.

During 2023, Roger was diagnosed with lymphoma, which made him stop and ruminate over his experiences and achievements over the last five decades. That breadth of history is felt in Projections. It’s his third electronic album, following The Truth in Me (2006) and Songs from the Silver Box (2010), and his first in fifteen years to center the Moog Voyager and Rhodes piano.

The record sounds like an artist revisiting old languages: fluent but unhurried, folding memory into machinery. “I love working with the cello,” he’s said before, “it just resonates with me and is the perfect accompaniment or lead to the piano.” Here, he sets the cello aside in favor of textures that hum with a quiet pulse; compositions that suggest film reels, distant skylines, and private sketches.

He is joined again by longtime collaborator Alka, who contributes beats and synths with a precision O’Donnell calls instinctive. “I get a song finished with a guide rhythm track and just send it over to Philadelphia and wait for what comes back,” he explains. “He always says of course you don’t have to use everything, but I always do.” Their partnership gives the album its mechanical, yet deeply emotional, pulse.

Mastered in analogue by Guy Davie at Electric Mastering and released in Dolby Atmos, Projections takes its title literally. Each composition seems to cast an image outward: hotel corridors, stage lights, passing cities through tour bus glass. It is music both remembered and reimagined, a quiet reckoning with time, illness, and endurance. Projections captures the sound of dogged, if quiet, persistence.

A companion video for the title track translates this reflection into imagery. Edited by Mimi Supernova, it combines years of handheld footage—tour buses, hotel rooms, highways, graffiti, and fleeting faces—into a travelogue of a life spent in transit. The video also features studio and music video clips, notably The Cure’s music video shoot for “Pictures of You.” It also carries a dedication to the late Mars Williams, “a larger-than-life character and an amazing musician,” whose presence lingers in the passing scenery. This visual presentation serves as a fitting analogy: Projections feels like a diary written without words, with its entries expressed through melody and light.

Die japanische Electronic / Nu Metal-Band ESPRIT D´AIR hat mit „Tempus“ und „Broken Mirror“ weitere Videos von ihrem neuen und vierten Album „Aeons“ veröffentlicht.

Das von Sänger Kai (THE SISTERS OF MERCY) produzierte Album ist am 7. November 2025 via Starstorm Records erschienen.

„“Aeons“ handelt von Zeit – davon, wie sie uns gefangen nimmt, auf die Probe stellt und an unsere Grenzen bringen kann. Diese Songs entstanden in einer Welt, die sich zunehmend unsicher anfühlt, in der Konflikte, Spaltungen und Krisen unser Leben prägen. Aber inmitten dieser Dunkelheit gibt es immer noch Widerstandskraft, Hoffnung und die Möglichkeit, neu anzufangen. Die Songs behandeln Themen wie Verzweiflung und Kampf, aber auch Widerstandskraft und Hoffnung und erinnern daran, dass es auch in dunklen Zeiten einen Weg nach vorne gibt“, erklärt Sänger Kai.

„Wizard’s Light“ wird am 21. November 2025 erscheinen. Mit dem Lyric-Video zu „Darkened Path“ ist im Oktober 2025 die zweite Single erschienen.

„„Darkened Path“ ist eine gewisse Abkehr von unserer mythischen Vergangenheit“, eröffnet Gitarrist und Sänger Chris Sullivan. „Dieser Song taucht tiefer in mein Privatleben ein. Ein Thema, über das ich aus verschiedenen Gründen selten schreibe. Diese Abkehr war nicht bewusst, dieser Song passte einfach zu diesen Worten. Der Song basiert lose auf meiner Mutter, die immer nur das Beste für mich wollte. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass sie mir hinter verschlossenen Türen durch das Leben geholfen hat.“

„Ich habe mich schon immer für Filme und Bücher über Mythologie interessiert. Zauberer, Drachen und Ritter haben mich schon immer fasziniert, weil sie in dieser Zeit gelebt haben. Die Pagan Black Metal-Band VARMIA hat mit „Zwykli Zmarli – Ordinary Dead“ eine neue Single mitsamt Video-Clip veröffentlicht.

„Es ist ein Lied zu Ehren derer, die nicht mehr Teil unserer physischen Welt sind, aber dennoch unter uns wandeln. Unsere Vorfahren, die Altpreußen, verabschiedeten sich von den Verstorbenen, indem sie den hergerichteten Leichnam in das Haus stellten und um ihn herum ein Festmahl veranstalteten, als wäre er noch ein gewöhnlicher Bewohner. Eine Variante dieses Brauchs war noch vor nicht allzu langer Zeit in einigen unserer Häuser hier im Norden und Osten Polens lebendig. Ein Ritus, der sich im Laufe der Zeit und durch die Kultur gewandelt hat, dessen Wesen jedoch erhalten geblieben ist“, erklärt Bandleader Lasota.

Der Song folgt auf das vierte Album der Polen „Nie nas widzÄ�“ (2023) nach und wird Teil eines neuen Albums sein, das im Frühjahr 2026 via M-Theory Audio erscheinen wird.

DIRKSCHNEIDER & THE OLD GANG haben mit „Beyond The End Of Time“ ein weiteres Video veröffentlicht. Der vorherige Track „Babylon„stammt vom gleichnamigen Album „Babylon“, das am 3. Oktober 2025 veröffentlicht wurde. Ebenfalls verfügbar ist daraus die Single „Dead Man’s Hand„.

Zuvor teilte das Projekt ein Video zu „Strangers In Paradise„:

Als ersten neuen Song stellte die Band „It Takes Two To Tango“ vor, als zweiten „Time To Listen“ und daraufhin „Hellbreaker„.

Zur Besetzung des Projektes gehören: Udo Dirkschneider, langjähriger ACCEPT-Frontmann sowie Gründer von U.D.O. und DIRKSCHNEIDER. Begleitet wird er von Peter Baltes (Bass, Gesang; ACCEPT, DIRKSCHNEIDER), Stefan Kaufmann (Gitarre; ACCEPT, U.D.O.), Mathias Dieth (Gitarre; SINNER, U.D.O.), Udos Sohn Sven Dirkschneider (Schlagzeug; U.D.O., Dirkschneider) und Sängerin Manuela Bibert.

Zwischen Sommer 2020 und Herbst 2021 hat das Projekt drei Singles (‚Where The Angels Fly‘, ‚Face Of A Stranger‘ und ‚Every Heart Is Burning‘) aufgenommen und als Charity-EP ‚Arising‘ zugunsten von Künstler veröffentlicht, die vom Corona-Lockdown betroffen waren.

Two years after Fran marder’s release, the second ARCKANUM album Kostogher was set free to plague the feeble world. The ARCKANUM trademarks as edified on Trulen and Fran marder are kept intact while at the same time new ingredients are mingled. Whereas Fran marder had a rather clean sound, Kostogher’s production comes with a lot of stink and filth. The harsh sound of Kostogher which convincingly marries the rawness of Trulen with a vigorous studio production turns the second full-length into a savage and quite possibly the most primal sounding ARCKANUM album. Compared to Fran marder, Kostogher comes across way dirtier, meaner and all around crazier. The whole album has a bold FUCK OFF written all over it._x000D_-> >;

With creative fires ever glaringly blazing and totally devoted to his craft, Shamaatae would be able to unleash Kampen only one year after the previous album spread pestilence and plague. The third and at the same time last installment of the band’s first era also ranks as the longest ARCKANUM album up to this day. Although recorded in the same studio as its predecessor and generally continuing the trajectory of Fran marder and Kostogher, Kampen is arguably the finest hour (or rather 73 minutes) of ARCKANUM’s first era. It not only contains some of the most refined compositions Shaamatae has come up with at this point but compared to the other two albums sports the best sound too. On a record rife with highlights, it’s difficult to pick particular tracks but the majestically melancholic “Pa gruvstiigher vandrum” complete with conjuring female chanting and the rather straight forward almost punkish “Trulfylket, raþz ok os” well represent the diversity of Kampen._x000D_-> >;

Der Start des 25. Mera Luna Festivals war ein unvergessliches Ereignis. Die Eröffnung am Freitag-Abernd begann mit einem Trillerpfeifensignal, woraufhin die Besucher eilig in die erste Reihe stürmten.
