Die Thrash Metal-Band HELLEVATE hat mit dem Video zu „Killicon Valley (Silicon Dust)“ eine zweite Single ihres kommenden Albums „Killicon Valley“ veröffentlicht.

„Die sogenannten „Führungskräfte“ der Tech-Branche haben alles teurer gemacht, unzählige Berufe auf den Kopf gestellt und diese idiotische Präsidentschaftsregierung dazu gebracht, ihnen Zugang zu sensiblen Systemen zu gewähren. Und wozu? Es vermasselt einfache Aufgaben. Es füllt unsere Newsfeeds mit Müll und Lügen. Es gibt mittelmäßigen Idioten ohne jegliches Können die Illusion, sie könnten ohne Anstrengung Kunst schaffen – und das alles auf Kosten des Planeten, der unser Leben erhält“, sagt Sänger Robert Browne.

Das neue Album der US-Amerikaner aus Kansas wurde von Gitarrist Joshua Cole gemixt und gemastert, während Mario López für das Cover-Artwork verantwortlich zeichnet. „Killicon Valley“ wird am 22. Mai 2026 erscheinen. Vorab gibt es zu „In the Long Grass“ auch ein Lyric-Video.

Die Blackened Post-Hardcore-Band IF I DIE TODAY hat nach „I Felt Nothing“ ein neues Album angekündigt. Die Modern Heavy Metal-Band CRIMSON DAY hat einen Labeldeal bei WormHoleDeath Records unterschrieben. Dieser Deal sieht den Release des neuen Albums „Dark Dimension“ vor, welches am 22. Mai 2026 erscheinen wird. Es ist das vierte Album der Finnen und beschäftigt sich mit Themen wie inneren Konflikten, alternativen Realitäten und den Schatten, die das menschliche Dasein prägen. nach „Hexed“ gibt es mit „Song of Fire“ nun die dritte Vorab-Single.

„Dark Dimension“ wurde von Jussi Kulomaa gemixt und von Svante Forsbäck gemastert. Mit dem Video zu „False Prophet“ gibt es seit März die erste Vorab-Single. Der Song thematisiert den Missbrauch des Glaubens und jene Personen, die den Glauben als Mittel zur Kontrolle einsetzen. Seine Botschaft ist klar: Hinterfrage, was dir gesagt wird, vertraue deinem eigenen Verstand und weigere dich, blind zu folgen.

Washington, D.C. gives us 2DCAT, a dark synthpop duo with the sort of backstory that turns the usual press-kit credentials into something far stranger, sturdier, and more alive. Johan Hauck builds most of the hardware synthesizers the duo performs with, which means the machinery here is not some rented glow-box blinking politely in the corner, but a homemade electrical animal with wires for veins and bad intentions in its little metal heart. HAEZL, meanwhile, comes from the opera world, having shared stages with Patti LaBelle, Cynthia Erivo, and Renée Fleming, and that gives 2DCAT a vocal caliber dark synthpop rarely gets: lungs, teeth, diction, and gravitas.

Eat the Rich is the moment the velvet curtain gets yanked down and used to start a fire. The song takes class rage out of the op-ed column and puts it in the public square. Its world is divided with the bluntness of a brick through stained glass: the fed and the feeding, the ruined and the ruling, the families scraping by while some distant class of lizards counts the coins and calls it civilization. The repeated title phrase becomes less slogan than appetite: somebody has been dining for centuries, and now the table manners are gone.

The genius of the track is its lack of dainty pleading. There is no petition being passed around, no well-lit panel discussion, no rich man’s child discovering empathy during a semester abroad. 2DCAT goes straight for the old revolutionary theater: guillotine, blood, fire, the grand machinery of consequence. You can feel the song staring at the polite lie that suffering must always remain dignified, then kicking that lie down a flight of stairs. Its violence is rhetorical, theatrical, and deliberately ugly in the way a cracked mirror is ugly when it finally tells the truth.

The black-and-white video, directed by Johan Hauck, puts this fury inside an abandoned factory, which is exactly where it belongs. Those long shots of dead industry feel like a funeral for labour itself: empty halls, cold walls, the skeletal remains of a place where bodies once turned time into profit for somebody else. There is something chilling about seeing the corpse of work stripped of workers, as if the building has outlived the people it consumed. The imagery is simple, severe, and all the better for it.

2DCAT’s ‘Eat the Rich’ resonates more deeply because of its placement in the overall emotional progression. Conversely, the earlier single ‘Salvation Will Not Come’ leaves us in silence once hope is broken, with prayer becoming just a formality and idols looking back with cold, marble-like indifference.

“Eat the Rich started where Salvation Will Not Come left off,” says Johan Hauck. “That song was the silence after hope runs out. This song is the one that breaks the silence.” That line nails the record’s cruel little engine: hope drains out, anger walks in wearing its coat, and suddenly 2DCAT are no longer mapping despair from a safe distance. They are standing in the wreckage with a homemade synthesizer, an opera-trained voice, and a match.

Spawning out of East San Diego with a coffin full of Chicano goth-punk nerve, The Marcelas come fluttering through the crypt door on Murciélagos (Spanish for bats) like they have mistaken a cemetery for a house party and, frankly, improved the guest list. Brothers Hector and Diego Altamirano, joined by Marcos Macabra, understand the grand old truth of deathrock: if you are going to stare into decay, damnation, and bodily ruin, you might as well bring a tasty bassline.

Murciélagos expands their bilingual bite, moving between English and Spanish like a switchblade passed under a church pew. The track has the theatrical stink of horror VHS, basement punk, and suburban doom, but its roots run deeper than costume-shop camp. You can hear Bauhaus and The Birthday Party in the candlelit corners, Misfits in the cartoon corpse grin, Dead Kennedys in the jolt of bad-news momentum, Paralisis Permanente in the Spanish-language death-disco chill, and Caifanes in the way romance seems to have wandered into the morgue wearing eyeliner and bad intentions.

The drums hit with the rude certainty of someone pounding on a locked mausoleum door. The guitars come in sharp and searing, all wail and barbed wire, while the vocals hover between spooky sermon, gutter theatre, and a guy who has absolutely seen something slithering out of an open grave.

Lyrically, Murciélagos is a cursed little carnival of rot, lies, mutilation, imprisonment, spiritual infection, and occult trouble. The body is betrayed, the soul gets dragged into the muck, and damnation arrives with claws, fangs, and what sounds like a serious need for dental insurance. The imagery leans into blood, fire, witchcraft, divine punishment, and monstrous transformation, all while the recurring bat motif gives the song its perfect rubber-winged mascot. It is ridiculous in the best possible way, because goth without a little ridiculousness is just expensive laundry and a vitamin D deficiency.

The Marcelas’ local showcase reputation and theatrical club performances make perfect sense here: Murciélagos feels built for a room where the fog machine is doing union overtime, the crowd is half dancing and half pretending they are too cool to dance, and somebody in the corner has strong opinions about old horror sequels. It is bloody, catchy, campy, and cursed: a night out in the cemetery with a Ouija board, a busted amp, and just enough bad judgement.

Vor einigen Wochen teilten die Norweger bereits die beiden Singles  „Close Is Just Another Name for Nothing“ und „Back To Fucking“ als Stream. Bis September wollen die Musiker um Sänger Kristopher Schau drei weitere Vorabtracks veröffentlichen.

Heavy heißt nicht automatisch gut und trotzdem horchen wir erstmal auf, als WAGE WAR das ambitionslose „Stigma“ (2024) mit einem markigen Statement beiseite fegen. „Song Of The Swamp“ gewinnt sicherlich keine Innovationspreise, entwickelt jedoch auf Anhieb mehr Esprit, als wir das von den US-Amerikanern anno 2026 erwartet hätten.

Die aktuellen Genre-Standards treibt das Quintett auf die Spitze, indem es den heruntergestimmten Gitarren in all ihrer Sumpfigkeit einen entfesselten Briton Bond zur Seite stellt. Der Shouter klingt boshaft wie nie, wechselt im Laufe der EP jedoch auch in andere Stimmlagen, wobei die wiederkehrenden Spoken-Word-Passagen eher schwachbrüstig ausfallen.

WAGE WAR gehen nicht unbedingt inspiriert zu Werke, bringen ihre Ideen aber auf den Punkt
Eine Prise Nu Metal à la KORN prägt das rohe „4×4“, das ähnlich wie das erwähnte „Karma“ auf stumpfen Höhlenmenschen-Groove setzt, doch genau deshalb so kurzweilig ist. Inspiriert gehen WAGE WAR nicht zu Werke, dafür bringen sie ihr Baukasten-Schema ohne Umwege auf den Punkt. Sogar die eingängige radiotaugliche Single „Blindfold“ hat dank ihres 6/8-Takts einen interessanten Twist, um den generischen Zutaten neues Leben einzuhauchen.

Mit Klargesang hält sich Gitarrist Cody Quistad ansonsten stärker zurück, als es in der jüngeren Vergangenheit der Fall war. Stattdessen steuert „It Calls Me By Name“ auf ein regelrecht gnadenloses Ende zu: Mit „Purify“ zeigen sich WAGE WAR so hart und verbittert wie schon lange nicht mehr – heavy heißt zwar auch hier nicht automatisch gut, doch gleichzeitig macht man mit einem solch humorlosen Breakdown zum Ende hin in der Regel selten etwas falsch.

Dark electronic band, IAMIMPERFECT has just unveiled their new EP, Ghosts.

Ghosts represents the awful feelings nagging at you, never leaving you a moment of peace. Whether it’s the the pressure to make yourself fit in with your peers, the competitor who is always doing it better, or the constant reminder of how everyone else is coping and you really can’t.  

Ghosts is about trying to live your life while everything else fights for your attention. It pulls you down, pushes you to conform, and drags you back into the dark. It is about what it takes to keep going anyway, as the world around us continues to spiral. Ghosts represents moments of quiet introspection along with flashes of hope and bursts of frustration.

We hear you. We are with you. You are not alone. These ghosts hang over you.   
IAMIMPERFECT worked with local Sheffield artist, Stephen Carley, who created their 2024 music video for “Static & Feeling”, to create a set of double exposed film photographs to use for artwork. Another local artist, Scott D’arcy then worked on these to match the themes of each of the tracks, producing a set of dark and emotional pieces.

Ghosts is a blend of darkwave, synth-pop, industrial, and goth, driven by intricate synth arrangements, electronic drums, heavily distorted guitar, and soaring vocal hooks and harmonies. Ghosts is for fans of: Solar Fake, The Birthday Massacre, Faderhead, Depeche Mode and just a little bit of Iron Maiden.

TUNGSTEN haben mit „Joker“ den Opener ihres kommenden Albums „Ashes“ als Video-Clip veröffentlicht.

„2015 bin ich zufällig auf ein Video von Franzl Lang gestoßen. Ich war wirklich beeindruckt davon, wie wahnsinnig gut er jodeln konnte, und so durchlief ich eine kurze Franzl-Phase. Nicht lange danach stand ich an einem See mit perfektem Echo und beschloss, selbst ein bisschen zu jodeln. Es klang natürlich absolut schrecklich, aber ich habe die Technik sofort verstanden. Seitdem habe ich nur ab und zu zum Spaß gejodelt. Irgendwie hat sich mein Jodeln nach fast 10 Jahren gelegentlichen Herumprobierens ganz von selbst verbessert“, sagt Gitarrist Nick Johansson.

Im März hat die Band eine weitere neue Single herausgebracht: „The North Will Rise“ ist eine Zusammenarbeit mit SONATA ARCTICA-Sänger Tony Kakko.

Die vorherige Single „Bite My Tongue“ ist sogar als Video bei YouTube zu sehen.

Mit dem Track leitet die Power Metal-Band das nächste Kapitel ihrer Geschichte ein – das neue und fünfte Studioalbum „Ashes“ wird am 9. Oktober 2026 via Perception erscheinen.

Mit „The Outcome“ wird am 29. Mai 2026 via Anti-Corp Music die neue EP der Industrial / Drone-Band DIMINISHING erscheinen. Die Scheibe folgt auf das 2023er-Debütalbum „The Unnamable“ nach.

„Das Thema von ‚The Outcome‘ befasst sich mit vorweggenommener Trauer und unseren negativen Reaktionen darauf. Wenn man mit dem bevorstehenden Tod eines geliebten Menschen konfrontiert ist, neigt man dazu, sich selbst ungerechtfertigt die Schuld zu geben oder seine Wut an anderen auszulassen. Manche beklagen, dass sie mehr hätten tun können. Andere werfen Familienmitgliedern vor, nicht genug getan zu haben. Menschen neigen dazu, unrealistische Erwartungen an sich selbst und ihre Mitmenschen zu stellen, wenn sie mit einer solch unglaublich belastenden und herzzerreißenden Situation konfrontiert sind. Das sind Dinge, die ich und meine Angehörigen in den letzten Jahren gesehen und erlebt haben, daher erschien es mir angebracht, darüber zu schreiben“, erklärt Lane Oliver.

Dieses prallgefüllte 8-CD-Artbook versammelt nicht nur sämtliche klassischen Werke der norwegischen Black Metal Kultband, die Demos und ersten Alben, sondern sogar das bislang unveröffentlichte "1994 Demo"! LIMBONIC ART wurden im Jahr 1993 gegründet und veröffentlichten drei Jahre später ihr Debütalbum "Moon in the Scorpio" (1996) über Nocturnal Art Productions. Das Label wurde von EMPEROR-Gitarrist Samoth alias Tomas Thormodsæter Haugen betrieben, der zugriff, nachdem die Demo-Kassetten der Band sein Interesse geweckt hatten. Die damals recht einzigartige Kombination der Band aus nordischem Black Metal mit cineastischen Elementen, die von romantischer und klassischer Orchestermusik inspiriert waren, erwies sich in den Folgejahren als sehr einflussreich. LIMBONIC ART waren stets ein schwer fassbares Phänomen und galten schon damals als Kultband, da die Norweger nur sehr selten live auftraten – beispielsweise mit einem legendären Konzert beim Black Whitsun Subfestival der Jahrtausendausgabe des Wave Gotik Treffens (2000) in Leipzig. Im neuen Jahrhundert schloss sich Daemon für eine Weile ZYKLON an, bevor sich LIMBONIC ART im Februar 2003 offiziell auflösten. Im Jahr 2006 formierte Daemon die Band jedoch neu und machte im Alleingang weiter. Nach einer weiteren längeren Pause feierte die norwegische Kultband im Jahr 2024 mit ihrem neunten Album "Opus Daemoniacal" ein bemerkenswertes Comeback. In dessen Songs spiegelt sich unmittelbar die musikalische Erfahrung und kompositorische Reife aus drei Jahrzehnten wider. Die scheinbare Leichtigkeit, mit der sich diese Meister-Metaller einen packenden Heavy-Track nach dem anderen aus den Ärmeln schütteln, ist beeindruckend. Inhaltlich dreht sich "Fading Failing Ruin" um apokalyptische, endzeitliche Themen, die den aktuellen Zeitgeist auf den Punkt bringen. SOLACE knüpfen dabei an die Anfangstage des Heavy Metal an, verbinden die alten Themen und Sounds jedoch geschickt mit zeitgenössischer Härte. SOLACE bezeichnen ihre ureigene Mischung aus Doom und Heavy Metal mit Hardcore-Elementen gerne als "Dirt Metal", haben sich aber auch schon die augenzwinkernde Benennung als "Shorecore" eingefangen. Letzteres beruht auf ihrer Herkunft aus dem Küstenstaat New Jersey in den USA, dessen Einwohner auch als "Shoremen" bekannt sind. Andere schlagen das Quintett aus Asbury Park bevorzugt dem Stoner Metal zu. Tatsächlich treffen all diese Beschreibungen bis zu einem gewissen Grad auf die Band zu. Mit "Fading Failing Ruin" setzen SOLACE einen neuen Meilenstein des US-Heavy Metal, der die durchaus unterschiedlichen Traditionen des Genres von beiden Seiten des Atlantiks respektiert sie zugleich aber auch in die Zukunft trägt. 33 years after its initial release in 1993, the full-length is still widely hailed for its timeless audial magic. Undoubtedly a legendary album it stands out even among MARDUK’s own discography. While Dark Endless still leaned heavily towards Death Metal and their later output frequently put emphasis on speed and brutality, it’s exactly on Those of the Unlight and its successor Opus Nocturne that MARDUK immortalized some of their most brooding and haunting compositions. Showcasing a perfect blend of dark atmosphere and unrelenting heaviness with an exceptional vocal performance by Joakim af Gravf who made his MARDUK debut on the album, songs like “Wolves”, “Burn my Coffin” or the ungodly title track will forever stand as beacons of supreme dark art.

-> >;Originally intended as a mere re-issue of SHINING's infamous "8 ½" compilation, and yes, the first part do feature those now celebrated five tracks of demo recordings on which BEASTCRAFT/URGEHAL maestro Lars Erik Frøslie added his nightmarish keyboard soundscapes, raising the bar of creepiness a few steps higher on the ladder, and on which one specifically appointed frontman lent his very own horrifying and "feverish" ideas, guaranteeing every listener a mental downfall into the bottomless, dark depths of the human psyche. Regarding the specific guest vocalists, Maniac (SKITLIV) and Pehr Larsson (ALFAHANNE) contributed wholly unique touches. The remaining three revered artists leapt even further into the realm of the unexpected by translating the original lyrics into their respective native tongues, offering audiences a taste of what SHINING could have sounded like if Kvarforth wasn't born Swedish: Attila Csihar (MAYHEM/TORMENTOR) therefore performed in Hungarian, Famine (PESTE NOIRE) in French and, last but certainly not least, Gaahl (TRELLDOM) in Norwegian! In addition, Tuomas Tahvanainen contributed a brand new intro and as per usual, he also provided a refined and most necessary visual upgrade under the Nucleart Design banner. Finally, always fond of tradition, the album has been fully remastered by Andy La Rocque down at Sonic Train Studios too. If you prefer the dirtier sounding SHINING of the old days, you definitely can't turn your back on this and should support the band by ordering a copy immediately!lt;nbsp;

Revering tradition, long-time producer Andy La Rocque have again mixed, mastered and produced, while French painter Maxime Taccardi have also once more contributed with artwork. DIVIDED YOU’LL STAND AND UNITED YOU’LL FALL marks the end of what at first seemed like a promising era for the band, but one that also ended abruptly. Founder and sole remaining original member Niklas Kvarforth comments: “We are releasing these songs so that we can get the last three years out of our systems, which is a necessity for us to have fully dealt with before its time to record our next album”.
