Mit „Rapture Is Mine… Glory Is Ours“ wird am 10. Januar 2026 via Pest Records und Metal Ör Die Records das neue Album der Death Metal-Band ANGERSEED erscheinen. Es ist nach „The Proclamation“ (2016) das zweite Album der Ungarn aus Debrecen.

„Rapture Is Mine… Glory Is Ours“ wurde von István Simon in den No Silence Studios gemixt und gemastert und mit einem Cover-Artwork von Bertalan Pór ausgestattet. Vorab gibt es den Track „Redefine My Universe“ zu hören.

Die Death Metal / Crust-Band SKULLD hat einen Labeldeal bei Time To Kill Records unterschrieben. Im Zuge dessen werden die Italiener ihr neues Album „Abyss Calls To Abyss“ veröffentlichen. Es ist nach „The Portal Is Open“ (2024) das zweite Album der 2019 gegründeten Band. Mit dem Lyric-Video zu „Mother Death“ gibt es nun die zweite Vorab-Single.

„“Mother Death“ ist eine feierliche, magnetische Hymne, die den Tod nicht als Ende, sondern als heiligen Anfang betrachtet – als wesentlichen Teil des ewigen Kreislaufs, der Licht und Schatten, Sommer und Winter, Geburt und Auflösung miteinander verbindet. In diesem Lied erhält der Tod eine Stimme und ein Gesicht: nicht als Schrecken, sondern als Umarmung; nicht als Strafe, sondern als Rückkehr; nicht als Stille, sondern als Flüstern“, erklärt die Band.

Im November ist mit dem Video-Clip zu „The Blink“ die erste Vorab-Single erschienen.

Das Album, welches am 30. Januar 2026 erscheinen wird, greift feministische und heidnische Themen auf, wobei esoterische Reflexion und gesellschaftspolitisches Bewusstsein zu einem zusammenhängenden, kathartischen Ganzen verschmelze.

The news was originally reported on social media on 12/25 and officially confirmed by the band this afternoon. The Cure’s Robert Smith shared these touching words:

Bamonte began his storied tenure with the band in 1984, when he joined the band’s road crew during the touring cycle for The Top at the encouragement of his brother Daryl. He served as Robert Smith’s guitar technician and personal assistant between 1984 and 1989, and it was during this time that Bamonte learned to play piano and synthesizer, taught by Smith’s sister Janet. When keyboardist Roger O’Donnell left the band in 1990, Bamonte became an official member of The Cure, performing synths, six string bass, and additional guitar. While Bamonte appeared on the cover for the 1990 single Never Enough, his first true outing with the band was 1992’s Wish, where he added to the album’s lush soundscapes and penned wistful fan favorite “Trust.”

His versatile and atmospheric playing can be heard throughout The Cure’s next few records, including 1996’s Wild Mood Swings (Bamonte also wrote “This is a Lie,” another stunning album track), 2000’s underrated Bloodflowers, and 2004’s self-titled record. He also performed on the seminal live records Paris and Show in 1992, as well as appeared in 1991’s Play Out and 2002’s Trilogy home videos. Bamonte left the band in 2005, shortly after the Curiosa Festival wrapped up. He would keep a low profile for the following years, developing a career as an illustrator and enjoying fly fishing in his off-time, also performing as the bassist of UK alternative supergroup Love Amongst Ruin with Steve Hewitt of Placebo from 2012-2015.

Bamonte was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Cure in 2019, and returned to the stage as a live member in 2023 to perform on the Shows of a Lost World tour, contributing his trademark blend of guitar, keyboards, and six string bass throughout the tour. He most recently can be seen and heard performing on the recent theater and DVD release of  The Show Of A Lost World (Troxy Live 2024), which documents a thrilling 3+ hour live set on the eve of The Cure’s latest album release for Songs of a Lost World.

We wish all the best to Bamonte’s friends and family during this difficult time, and will always cherish his incredible contributions to one of the world’s most singular and special of bands.

Nachdem die erstmalige Auflage des Debüt-Albums „The Glamour Of Darkness“ der BLIND PASSENGERS von 1993 im Vinyl-Format durch Emmo.biz Records ratzfatz ausverkauft war und inzwischen eine zweite Nachpressung aufgelegt wurde, erscheint jetzt auch parallel das zweite Album „Destroyka“ zum ersten Mal in dieser Form. „Destroyka“ war damals 1996 ein mutiger, wie aber auch folgerichtiger, Schritt für die ostdeutsche Synth Pop-Formation. Im Gegensatz zu ihren meist westdeutschen Kollegen des Genres wollten sich die BLIND PASSENGES weiter entwickeln und beschritten konsequent den Crossover-Pfad. Da dies in den 90er weitestgehend angesagt war und einen gewissen Erfolg versprach, waren auch Major-Plattenfirmen an den BLIND PASSENGERS interessiert. So entstand „Destroyka“ Anfangs noch unter der Option von Hansa/BMG bzw. wurde dort im Vorfeld schon die erste Single „Absurdistan“ veröffentlicht. Letztendlich konnte man sich dann aber über die weitere Veröffentlichungspolitik nicht einigen, weshalb das Album etwas verspätet bei Synthetic Symphony/SPV erschien. Dies bewahrte zwar die künstlerische Freiheit der Band, dem Airplay und einer damals noch sehr wichtigen TV-Präsenz war es dafür nicht ganz so zuträglich. Trotzdem wurde das Album dann ein voller Erfolg, denn die Fans standen voll hinter der Band und ihrer Weiterentwicklung. Diese manifestierte sich bei den BLIND PASSENGERS über ein wesentlich druckvolles und dichteres Soundbild, welches vor allem durch die dominanten Gitarrenriffs von Lars Rudel (damals noch DIE SKEPTIKER), bombastischen Kirchen-Chören und groovig-schnellen Rhythmen getragen wurde. Bei der anschließenden Tour wurde sogar dazu ein Live-Schlagzeuger integriert, welche ebenso ein Siegeszug vor meist ausverkauften Häusern wurde. Die geschah, wie bereits erwähnt, zu einer Zeit, in der viele Szene-Bands mit so einer Entwicklung liebäugelten, aber dafür von ihren Fans gnadenlos abgestraft wurden. Bei den BLIND PASSENGERS ging es nach „Destroyka“ jedoch experimentell weiter und man mutierte letztendlich gar zu einer Industrial Metal-Formation mit Major-Vertrag! Doch zurück zu „Destroyka“ auf Vinyl, bei der jetzt durch die Revision von Nik Page die Songs „Straight Down“ und „Don’t Turn Around“ durch drei B-Seiten von den damaligen MCDs ausgetauscht wurden, was ich persönlich zwar nicht ganz nachvollziehen kann bzw. sehr schade finde, aber er wird schon seine Gründe dafür gehabt haben. So oder so bleibt das Album eine absolute Hausnummer und haben Songs wie „Nostradamus“, „Absurdistan“ oder „Respect Yourself“ immer noch nichts von ihrer hymnischen Durchschlagskraft verloren! Auf Grund der heruntergefallenen zwei Titel sollte man jetzt die alte CD besser nicht ausmustern, aber sich trotzdem die Vinyl-LP zulegen, die ja mit drei anderen Songs einen deutlichen Mehrwert bietet. 222 Exemplare gibt es davon wieder im roten Vinyl und nur 77 Stück als Splatter-Vinyl in einer Box-Edition + zusätzlichen T-Shirt, Poster und Patch. Bei beiden Versionen ist Eile geboten, denn wenn die Nachfrage wieder genau so groß ist, wie bei „The Glamour Of Darkness“, dürften die insgesamt 300 Platten schnell ausverkauft sein! (Marco Fiebag)

Es ist wohl der deutlichste Beleg dafür, dass sich ROLO TOMASSI nicht verbiegen lassen: „In The Echoes Of All Dreams“ mag als kleines Präsent zum 20-jährigen Bestehen der Prog-Post-Hardcore-Band nur vier Tracks umfassen, nimmt sich aber in 15 Minuten dennoch die Zeit, die es braucht. „Woodburn“ wirkt folglich mit seinen verträumten Synthscapes, den feinfühligen Clean-Vocals und seinem behutsamen Aufbau mehr wie ein dreiminütiges Intro denn ein eigenständiger Song.

Nichtsdestotrotz ist diese ausgedehnte Spannungskurve essentiell: Weil die Briten nur eine Viertelstunde zur Verfügung haben, maximieren sie durch den überlegten Einstieg die Durchschlagskraft, wenn „Tempest“ plötzlich ins andere Extrem umschlägt. Gallige Screams, verschachteltes Drumming, krumme Rhythmik, ungestüme Gitarren – ihr Vokabular nutzen ROLO TOMASSI zugleich präzise und auf kompromisslose Art und Weise.

ROLO TOMASSI erschaffen auf „In The Echoes Of All Dreams“ eine einzigartige Atmosphäre
Nur die Balance ist dem Quintett diesmal offenbar heilig, denn nach dem ebenfalls rabiaten „Dead Language“ mit seinen groovenden Djent-Anleihen offenbart „Unintending“ zum Abschluss eine zarte, zerbrechliche Seite. Piano-Akkorde untermauern Eva Kormans beruhigenden, doch nachdenklichen Gesang, die im ätherischen Finale von dichten Keyboardteppichen und post-metalartigen Riffwänden gestützt wird. „It’s okay. Let it go.“, spricht uns die Sängerin mit sanfter Stimme zu, so dass wir letztendlich gar nicht anders können, als genau dem zu folgen; zumindest für einen Augenblick, bevor wir uns doch noch ein weiteres Mal von „In The Echoes Of All Dreams“ gefangen nehmen lassen.

Mit einem filmischen Auszug startet das selbstbetitelte Album von KOLAC. Und das passiert nicht von ungefähr, schließlich wird mit der Passage des 1981er-Films „Der Falke“ („Banovic Strahinja“) der thematische Faden des dritten Albums der Serben aufgenommen. Hier geht es um die Verwendung von Pfählen („kolac“ in serbischer Sprache) als Bestrafungsmethode. Und nicht nur thematisch mag die Einbindung des filmischen Materials passend erscheinen, auch in der zeitlichen Orientierung landet die Band damit einen Treffer, erinnert die Musik doch etappenweise an VENOM und ROOT. Da passt es dann auch ganz gut, dass der Sound altbacken warm wirkt.

KOLAC überzeugen mit präzisem und gelungenem Riffing
Auch kompositorisch gehen KOLAC keine Experimente ein: die Musik bewegt sich sicher und bewusst auf Black / Thrash Metal-Pfaden und überzeugt mit präzisem und gelungenem Riffing, nimmt dann und wann das Tempo etwas raus, um dann etwa ein feines Solo aus der Hand zu schütteln („Krvokolj“). Gesanglich sind die Growls von Nemanja „Zlorog“ Krneta in einer mitteltiefen Tonlage und leider etwas gar eindimensional, wenngleich sie durch den slawischen Zungenschlag an Reiz gewinnen, so man denn auch ROOT deshalb etwas abgewinnen konnte.

Die Gothic Rock-Band SCHEITAN hat mit „A Kiss of Death“ den Opener ihres kommenden Albums „Wine For a Tormented Soul“ als Video-Clip veröffentlicht. Das Album, welches von Daniel Bergstrand gemixt wurde, folgt auf das vorjährige Comeback-Album „Songs for the Gothic People“ und wird am 19. Dezember 2025 via The Circle Music erscheinen.

Zuvor hat die Band mit „Heaven Tonight“ eine weitere Vorab-Single veröffentlicht.

„Der Song hat eine doppelte Botschaft. „Heaven Tonight“ könnte das Gefühl sein, den Abend mit der besonderen Person zu verbringen, die man liebt, aber es könnte auch die letzte Nacht beschreiben, bevor wir dieses irdische Gefängnis verlassen, in dem wir alle unser Leben verbringen“, kommentiert Pierre Törnkvist.

Es ist nach „Like Horses“ (2020) die zweite EP des spanischen Solo-Projekts von Bob G Castro, der an den Drums von Tweety Capmany eingespielt. Produziert wurde die Scheibe von Alex Tena (BONECARVER). Die Heavy Metal-Band AXE DRAGGER hat einen Labeldeal bei Ripple Music unterschrieben. Mit diesem in der Tasche wird die Supergroup am 6. März 2026 ihr selbstbetiteltes Debütalbum veröffentlichen.

Zum Ursprung der Band sagt Gitarrist Bob Balch: „Ich stand schon seit einiger Zeit mit dem Schlagzeuger Pete Campbell in Kontakt, um Riffs, Drumbeats und Ideen auszutauschen. Außerdem unterrichte ich seit ein paar Jahren über FaceTime einen Schüler, der alte Songs von RIOT, JUDAS PRIEST und DIO lernen möchte – und das hat mich wirklich motiviert, ein Old-School-Heavy-Metal-Projekt zu starten. Also haben Pete und ich angefangen, uns gegenseitig Riffs und Beats zu schicken, und als wir ein paar solide Songs hatten, haben wir den Sänger Terry Glaze und den Bassisten Fredrik Isaksson mit ins Boot geholt. Der erste Song, den Terry zurückschickte, war „Axe Dragger“, und Pete und ich waren total aus dem Häuschen. Von da an waren wir alle Feuer und Flamme, und im Laufe eines Jahres haben wir dieses Album zusammengestellt. Es ist ein reines Spiegelbild des Heavy Metal der frühen 80er Jahre – und ich hoffe, es gefällt euch.“

„Axe Dragger“ wurde von Brian Scheuble gemixt und von Dave Collins gemastert. Zum eröffnenden Titeltrack gibt es nun ein Lyric-Video.

Die Cinematic Modern Metal-Band SOUND STORM hat mit „Over The Distance“ eine dritte Single von ihrem kommenden Album „The Void Beyond“ veröffentlicht. Der Song folgt der inneren Reise eines Mannes, dessen Gedanken zu dem Moment seines eigenen Verschwindens abschweifen, in dem nur noch reine Gedanken übrig bleiben. In diesem Schwebezustand kommt er zu der Erkenntnis, dass seine Sünden ihn von der Unermesslichkeit und Ewigkeit des ihn umgebenden Universums getrennt haben. Der Song untersucht Distanz nicht nur als physikalisches Konzept, sondern als tiefgreifende spirituelle und existenzielle Trennung, in der Reue die Verbindung ersetzt und Unendlichkeit unerreichbar wird.

Ende 2024 ist mit „Last Fading Light“ die zweite Vorab-Single erschienen. Der Track handelt von einem Mann, der erkennt, dass seine Tage endlich sind und dass das gesamte Universum eines Tages unweigerlich in Vergessenheit geraten wird.

Bereits im August 2024 hat die Band mit „At The End of Time“ eine erste Single veröffentlicht. Der Song beschäftigt sich mit der Zerbrechlichkeit der menschlichen Existenz und dem dringenden Bedürfnis nach Erlösung im Angesicht des drohenden Untergangs.

„The Void Beyond“ ist das vierte Album der Italiener aus Turin und soll in den kommenden Wochen erscheinen.

Released at the tail end of 1983, Collapsing New People marked a pressure point at which a decade began to fold in on itself. That persistence becomes clear immediately in its afterlife: on December 25, 2025, German musician Daniel Knutz issues a reinterpretation of the song, offered quietly as a gift and set loose for new listeners. This gesture frames the original song as a living report; one that keeps finding fresh ground on which to stand.

In the brief, volatile arc of Fad Gadget (Francis John Tovey by birth), the track lands with uncommon clarity. Berlin breathes through it: divided streets, iron air, work rhythms repeating until meaning thins. Social strain, architectural stress,and  psychological fatigue gather here, compressed into a few unblinking minutes.

Seen from a distance, the song reads as an early signal flare for where the music styles of the 1980s would go: synth-driven pop would soon smooth its surfaces; industrial music would harden its stance. Collapsing New People lives in the brief overlap. Earlier Fad Gadget recordings leaned toward shock or satire; this one settles into something cooler, after emotion processes into numb familiarity. The title carries its own blunt intelligence. It bends the language toward Tovey’s contemporaries Einstürzende Neubauten, whose name translates as “collapsing new buildings.” This was alignment by instinct rather than mimicry; where Neubauten turned attention outward – to steel, concrete, demolition – Tovey traced the fault line inward, following what happens to people shaped inside systems that prize efficiency over endurance. (And, to be fair, Tovey was also poking a bit of fun at the goth subculture, particularly in places like The Batcave.)

Recorded at the legendary Hansa Tonstudio, the original song captured Berlin at a hinge moment as the city stood suspended between histories, restless with creative friction. Echoing that, Tovey and drummer Nick Cash’s mechanical patterns marched forward, looping industrial textures ticking with factory logic. Movement arrives stiffly; any dance moves to this particular number respond in short, angular gestures.

Tovey’s lyrics abandon plot for assessment. The “new people” carry no promise of renewal; they arrive manufactured, sorted, fed back into systems that reward constant adjustment and offer little shelter. Repetition does the work of explanation, as the lines circle, return, repeat: language mirroring industrial labour and broadcast messaging until identity begins to fray through overuse. The phrase new people stays unsettled, hinting at progress, redesign, and technological faith…but paired with collapsing, it turns diagnostic. These figures inherit new tools, new economies, new doctrines, yet receive no protection from their consequences. The future stands present tense, already misfiring.

That continuity sharpens in Daniel Knutz’s 2025 reinterpretation, viewed now through contemporary darkwave space. He preserves the skeleton of Fad Gadget’s original, including the unmistakable glass bottle percussion and stark synthesizer figures, while thickening the atmosphere around it. Textures deepen, low-end weight settles in. Industrial accents arrive with restraint. Knutz’s vocals keep a measured distance, ritual in tone, allowing the song’s emotional compression to expand (without collapse!).

The single is issued as a personal gift in memory of his grandmother, Olga Caetano, who was supposed to celebrate her birthday on 25 December, and for the underground subculture and future generations to keep the Fad Gadget home fires burning.

“I offer this as a gift — a small torch to keep Fad Gadget, to keep Frank Tovey, breathing for new generations,” says Knutz. “This song struck me in the chest like a revelation; I remade it so that dark pulse may find new hearts. I release it on December 25th for Olga – for the afternoons in her studio and the quiet lessons she left me.”

Collapsing New People by Daniel Knutz Time bends here, rather than closes. A Berlin document from 1983 passes through new hands, carrying its weight intact, still speaking in the same measured language of systems, bodies, and the cost of progress.

The single appears on streaming platforms December 25, released without a fixed price and open to listener donations. It also gestures forward: multiple releases slated for 2026, anticipated European live dates, and forthcoming label collaborations.

„On „We’ve been to the future“ Twins in Colour are slowdiving into different waters of dark pop, wave and psychedelic rock to find an answer. It’s best to listen to it with your eyes closed“. Ja, eigentlich kann die Rezension damit beginnen und enden. Was diese junge Leipziger Band nach ersten EP’s hier mit diesem wunderschönen Debüt auf den Gabentisch legt, hat Qualität und sollte für Freunde des verträumt-melancholischen Wave Pop, Shoegaze, Dream Pop, Lo-Fi Indie und 60’s Psych-Sounds kleine Glücks-Tränschen zulassen. Stell Dir vor: Beach House, Slowdive, Mazzy Star, die melancholisch-poppigen The Cure und Velvet Underground mit Nico finden musikalisch zusammen und raus kommt dann irgendwie sowas wie die Twins In Colour. Sanft driftende Elektronik, fuzzig schnorrende Indie-Gitarren geleiten ‚The Weather Station‘ angenehm slow und dunkel ins Album hinein. Nichts wirkt überfrachtet und diese gewisse Einfachheit, das stoisch melancholische bildet das stimmungsvolle Fundament dieser Platte. Verhuschte, unspektakuläre Female-Vocals zwischen Mazzy Star, Nico und Beach House phrasieren sehnsüchtig, intim und hängen immer etwas in den Wolken. ‚The Perks Of Being A Warflower‘ ist einfach perfekter dunkler Dream Pop: ein simpler Rhythmus, wohl temperierte melancholische Gitarren-Akkorde, ätherische Vocals, dunkle Synth-Schwaden und eine nur wunderschöne Melodie, die dich über fast 7 Minuten in eine sanft-traurige Schwerelosigkeit gleiten lässt. Respekt und mit ‚Shit Advice‘ wird gleich mal simpel und stoisch im Beach House-Schönklang weiter spaziert. Dieses simple in Beat und Melodie verschleiert nichts, man ist schnell und unmittelbar im Kern der Band und die sehnsüchtigen Melodien benebeln mit ihrer friedlichen und umarmenden Sound-Kulisse. ‚Crown Of Dust‘ treibt wavig minimal, mit männlich sanften Vocals und hat auch wieder so eine süchtig machende Melodie, die von schimmernden Keys und Gitarren liebevoll getragen wird. Das sind ausnahmslos wunderschön verträumte Kleinode/Hits, die im gleichen Moment happy und sad machen. Die Vocals sind nie perfekt, dafür berühren Sie mit greifbaren Emotionen und ihrer Suche nach diesem ominösen Mehr da draußen. ‚Ghosts Haunting‘ hat dank der Nico-lastigen Vocals diesen Touch dunklen Lo-Fi Sixties Pop, der auch den großen The Velvet Underground anhaftete. Streicher und feierlicher Songwriter-Folk zeigen die Band hier durchaus in anderen Nuancen, aber auch dieser Anzug sitzt der Band mit viel Charme. Etwas dunkle Einflüsse meiner Lieblinge von Piano Magic fließen in ‚Hospital Pt. 96‘ ein – Sehnsucht pur! Am Ende geht ein klein wenig die Luft aus, was insgesamt aber keinen Abbruch darstellt, ist ‚We’ve been to the Future‘ zu 100 Prozent ein kleines Juwel in Sachen Melancholie Pop.

These are not easy times for bands and organizers, but on the second attempt it finally worked out. Hildesheim is - apart from the M’era Luna Festival, of course - not a stronghold for lovers of alternative music, but every now and then there are some really worthwhile events. In this case, the audience was mainly from the gothic, medieval and LARP scenes. Or simply people with a broad taste in music, like me.

Am 6. März 2026 werden VREID ihr neues Album „The Skies Turn Black“ veröffentlichen. Fünf Jahre sind seit dem Vorgänger vergangen – Jahre, die die Band geprägt, herausgefordert und abgehärtet haben. Mit dem kommenden Werk kehren Vreid zum Kern ihrer Sognametal-Identität zurück, während sie sich zugleich musikalisch ambitionierter denn je zeigen.

Der Track „From These Woods“ entstand während früher Demo-Sessions in einer abgelegenen Berghütte. Eine nächtliche Idee entwickelte sich zur Basis für den Song und gab schließlich den Ton für das gesamte Album an. Die Band beschreibt ihn als eines der seltenen Stücke, die schon beinahe vollendet erwachen und dabei eine enge Verbundenheit zu ihrem Sognametal-Schaffen aufweisen. Das Musikvideo baut auf der Atmosphäre des Songs auf und fängt die Weite und Dunkelheit der Heimat der Band ein.

Bericht über das Konzert von
TROOPS OF DOOM, HEMLOCK und CATBREATH am 4.11.2025 in Hamburg

CATBREATH

Der Abend gestaltete sich als eine musikalische Zeitreise durch die Geschichte des Thrash Metals, wobei die erste Station uns in die frühen 2000er Jahre führte. In diesem Jahrzehnt erlebte der sogenannte „Pizza Thrash“ einen regelrechten Höhenflug. Statt der erwarteten Pizza wurden jedoch diesmal Katzenfutter serviert.

Die Band CATBREATH betrat die Bühne und präsentierte ein Set, das den charakteristischen Sound jener Ära widerspiegelte. Die musikalische Untermalung erinnerte an die klassischen Thrash-Soundlandschaften der frühen 2000er, während die Texte und Statements eine satirische Parodie auf die damaligen Lupin-Comic-Storys ähnelten.

Die Kieler nutzen ihren modernen Thrash-Metal-Ansatz, um die skurrilen Abenteuer des „Fetten Fredy“ zu erzählen: einem Straßenkater, der nach übermäßigem Berliner Luft-Konsum die deutsche Ordnung weiter ins Chaos stürzt.

Trotz der skurrilen Inhalte gelang es CATBREATH, eine gelungene Performance abzuliefern, die durch ihren humorvollen, aber dennoch authentischen Charakter überzeugte. Die Mischung aus nostalgischem Sound und satirischer Textgestaltung sorgte für ein unterhaltsames Konzerterlebnis.

Die musikalische Zeitreise geht nun in die 90er Jahre. Mit ihrem Auftritt setzen HEMLOCK den Fokus auf den Thrash/Groove Metal jener Epoche, die durch ihre musikalische Vielfalt, aber auch durch eine gewisse Marginalisierung innerhalb der Metalszene geprägt war.

In ihrer Darbietung präsentieren sie eine Hommage an die damals noch wenig gewürdigten, aber künstlerisch bedeutenden Bands, die trotz großer Bühnenauftritte bei namenhaften Acts wie Slayer und Lamb of God kaum die verdiente Anerkennung fanden.

Entgegen den vorschnellen Vermutungen einer Friseurin, die den singenden Bassisten beobachtete, bleibt die Band ihrem ursprünglichen Stil treu. HEMLOCK beweist, dass Authentizität und die konsequente Weiterentwicklung des eigenen Sounds wichtiger sind als das blinde Hinterherlaufen nach Trends wie Nu Metal.

Der etwa einstündige Auftritt verging wie im Flug, angetrieben von einer Vielzahl kraftvoller Riffs, mit einer Prise Selbstironie und Humor. HEMLOCK überzeugen durch ihre leidenschaftliche Musikalität, die die Zuhörer in eine Zeitreise voller intensiver Soundmomente entführt. Dabei nehmen sie sich nicht allzu ernst, zeigen aber dennoch eine große Ehrlichkeit und Hingabe zur Musik.

 

THE TROOPS OF DOOM

Mit Rückenwind und voller Energie schreitet die Reise in die 80er Jahre voran, der goldenen Ära des Thrash Metal. Jairo Guedes verzichtete auf die Teilnahme von Paulo Jr. und den Cavalera-Brüdern und präsentierte stattdessen eine Formation, die das Hamburger Publikum in den Bann zog.

Der Sound orientierte sich stark an dem legendären Album „Morbid Visions“. Die neuen Musiker lieferten eine Performance ab, die sowohl die Ästhetik als auch die zerstörerische Kraft der klassischen Aufnahmen einfing. Ziel war es, die Nerven des Publikums zu pulverisieren und den Geist der 80er auf die Bühne zu bringen.
Neben ihrer eigenen Diskographie präsentierten THE TROOPS OF DOOM auch ausgewählte Klassiker aus „Morbid Visions“, die bei den langjährigen Fans für Freudentränen sorgten. Die Performance zeichnete sich durch ihre Präzision, Energie und kompromisslose Intensität aus – eine wahre Demonstration von musikalischer Gewalt und Leidenschaft.

Der Auftritt war frei von Schwachstellen und zog die Zuhörer von Anfang bis Ende in seinen Bann. Die Kombination aus nostalgischer Erinnerung und moderner Spielfreude machte diesen Auftritt zu einem wahren Höhepunkt des Abends.
Wie alles Schöne im Leben musste auch diese musikalische Reise ein Ende nehmen, doch der letzte Act hinterließ einen bleibenden Eindruck: Ein zerstörerischer Abschluss, der die Faszination des Old School Metals auf beeindruckende Weise lebendig werden ließ.
