Die Dark Wave / Synth Popband von A SPELL INSIDE hatte ich vor Jahren mal in Bochum mit SECOND DECAY/PURWIEN-KOWA live gesehen, die Gruppe selbst wurde 1989 in Neuss gegründet. Die 2 Gründungsmitglieder MICHAEL ROEDER alias „Melrow“ und PETER KIRCHMEYER alias „DrDecay“ sowie MARCEL FIEBIG alias „MarCell“ haben mit der neuen Veröffentlichung nach 6 Jahren wieder mal ein Highlight im Elektro Pop Bereich produziert und das gleich mit 12 fulminanten Tracks und reichlich aktuellen Aussagen. Die Vorbilder der Gruppe, u.a. DEPECHE MODE, HURTS, THE SISTERS OF MERCY und HUMAN LEAGUE, geben auch gleich mal das Spiegelbild der Klanglandschaften wieder. Wie beim heimlich ersten Hit aus 1991 „Return to Grey“ klingen die modernen Trance Future Sounds nämlich total eingängig und sehr melodisch, die dynamischen Basslines und druckvollen Drums und hypnotischen Klangflächen erzeugen diesen unwiderstehlichen Sound mit 80s-Anleihen von oben besagten Bands. Dazu gesellt sich die tragende Stimme von MICHAEL. Auch visuell kann sich die Gruppe sehen lassen, wie im Video zum Song „One More Century“ und man merkt der „luftigen“ Platte „Last“ im übrigen auch an, das alles in Eigenregie entstanden ist, nur rein die Band und kein Label und daher kein Druck von außen. Die Themen der Platte sind passend zur aktuellen Zeit dann auch Orientierungslosigkeit, digitale Überforderung und vor allem das Suchen nach dem Sinn. Dieser Suche stellen sich ja viele Menschen in heutigen Zeiten. Und getreu dem Motto : „Wir leben das Leben, für das wir eigentlch garnicht gemacht worden sind, wir funktionieren nur noch und verlieren uns dabei selbst“ lautet dann auch die Aussage der Protagonisten von A SPELL INSIDE dazu und ist zudem Thema vom Opener „Faces“. Und mit dem emotionalen Track „Still“ wird sich auch mal wieder der deutschen Muttersprache bemächtigt, eigentlich war der Song nämlich in englisch geplant. Es geht im Song um Fehlinformation und somit um die Täuschung der Wahrheit, jeder lebt in seiner persönlichen Blase und kriegt sowas dann kaum mehr mit. Was zudem auffällt ist die große musikalische Bandbreite der Band. Die Tracks sind teils für die Clubs, aber auch einfach zum Zuhören und Nachdenken. Tipp für alle Elektro Nerds.

Angela Gossow steigt NICHT wieder bei ARCH ENEMY ein. Die ex-Sängerin schrieb heute in einem Kommentar unter ein weiteres Posting der Band auf Instagram: „ICH bin es nicht!“ Aber Danke für all eure Liebe. Ich freue mich, als Manager am neuen Kapitel teilzuhaben. Das wird ein Hammer!“

 

ARCH ENEMY und Angela Gossow hatten am 13. Februar 2026 einen identischen, kryptischen Teaser bei Instagram gepostet und alle älteren Inhalte ausgeblendet. Angela Gossow war bis 2014 Sängerin der Band und übernahm anschließend das Management der Band. Was es mit den Postings genau auf sich hat, ist nach wie vor unklar.

Nachdem Angela Gossow ARCH ENMY verlassen hat, übernahm Alissa White-Gluz den Posten der Sängerin. Sie verkündetet im November 2025 ihren Ausstieg, die verbleibenden Bandmitglieder erklärten, dass es 2026 weitergehen werde.

Inzwischen sind ARCH ENEMY für einige Festivals und Open Air 2026 bestätigt, unter anderem spielt die Band beim SUMMER BREEZE. Wer dann bei ARCH ENEMY Sängerin oder Sänger sein wird, ist noch nicht bekannt.

Eine Hommage an all die unvergesslichen Momente, die wir zusammen erschaffen haben.“ Mit diesen Worten kündigten POWERWOLF ihr neues Live-Album an. „Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle)“ ist seit 13. Februar 2026 auf CD, Vinyl, DVD und Blu-Ray erhältlich, der Mitschnitt der Wolfsnächte Tour 2024 wurde in der ausverkauften Münchener Olympiahalle aufgenommen.

Mit dem Livealbum wollen POWERWOLF bleibende Erinnerungen schaffen: 

„Uns war von Anfang an klar: Keine Worte und keine Videoausschnitte könnten je vollständig einfangen, was wir gemeinsam auf der Wolfsnächte 2024-Tour erlebt haben. This second album from Eihwar describes the world from which these two pagan superheroes originate. It is “Hugrheim,” the 10th hidden world of Yggdrasil in Eihwar’s fantasy mythology. The two musicians explain:

„Es ist ein Album, das davon handelt, einen Weg zu finden, um die Zukunft, die wir uns wünschen, Gestalt annehmen zu lassen, auch wenn die Welt um uns herum alles tut, um unsere Hoffnungen zu zerstören. Die Alternative Rock / Post-Metal-Band ŹRENICE hat mit dem Video zu „Neuroza“ eine zweite Single ihres kommenden Albums „Śnienie“ veröffentlicht.

„“Neuroza“ ist eine Geschichte über die Konfrontation mit einem Teil der eigenen Identität, der in der Vergangenheit feststeckt, und über die Angst vor Veränderung. Die Begegnung mit „der mir bekannten Figur“ vertieft die Orientierungslosigkeit und Angst, in der der Wunsch nach Veränderung mit der Angst kollidiert. Der symbolische Wald wird zu einem emotionalen Zustand, der durch Widerstand und Angst zum Überschreiten der eigenen Grenzen führt. Angst ist hier nicht nur eine Bedrohung, sondern ein Wegweiser zu tieferem Wissen und zum Ausbruch aus dem illusorischen Gefühl der Sicherheit“, erklärt die Band.

Es ist das erste Album der Polen und wurde von Krzysztof Godycki im Studio Roslyn aufgenommen und von Haldor Grunberg bei Satanic Audio gemixt und gemastert. Erscheinen wird das Album am 18. März 2026 über Via Nocturna.

Mit „Endymion“ gibt es einen Video-Clip zur ersten Vorab-Single, in welcher sich die Band mit einem der bewegendsten Themen unserer Zeit auseinandersetzt: der Erfahrung von Depressionen und dem Weg zur Wiederentdeckung eines Lebenssinns.

Die Heavy Metal-Band AXE DRAGGER hat einen Labeldeal bei Ripple Music unterschrieben. Mit diesem in der Tasche wird die Supergroup am 6. März 2026 ihr selbstbetiteltes Debütalbum veröffentlichen.

Zum Ursprung der Band sagt Gitarrist Bob Balch: „Ich stand schon seit einiger Zeit mit dem Schlagzeuger Pete Campbell in Kontakt, um Riffs, Drumbeats und Ideen auszutauschen. Außerdem unterrichte ich seit ein paar Jahren über FaceTime einen Schüler, der alte Songs von RIOT, JUDAS PRIEST und DIO lernen möchte – und das hat mich wirklich motiviert, ein Old-School-Heavy-Metal-Projekt zu starten. Also haben Pete und ich angefangen, uns gegenseitig Riffs und Beats zu schicken, und als wir ein paar solide Songs hatten, haben wir den Sänger Terry Glaze und den Bassisten Fredrik Isaksson mit ins Boot geholt. Der erste Song, den Terry zurückschickte, war „Axe Dragger“, und Pete und ich waren total aus dem Häuschen. Von da an waren wir alle Feuer und Flamme, und im Laufe eines Jahres haben wir dieses Album zusammengestellt. Es ist ein reines Spiegelbild des Heavy Metal der frühen 80er Jahre – und ich hoffe, es gefällt euch.“

„Axe Dragger“ wurde von Brian Scheuble gemixt und von Dave Collins gemastert. Nach dem eröffnenden Titeltrack und dem Lyric-Video zu „Fight Another Day“ gibt es mit „Shock ‘Em Dead“ nun einen dritten Vorab-Track.

Die Hardcore / Punk-Band A WILHELM SCREAM hat nach dem Video zu „Let It Ride“ mit dem Lyric-Video zu „I Got Tunnel Vision“ eine dritte Single ihres kommenden Albums „Cheap Heat“ veröffentlicht. Es ist das sechste Album der US-Amerikaner aus Massachusetts und wurde von Sänger und Gitarrist Trevor Reilly im Anchor End Studio produziert. Das Cover-Artwork stammt von Tyler DiPaola.

Thematisch verfolgt „Cheap Heat“ – in der Wrestling-Terminologie ein Begriff für einen Bösewicht oder „Heel“, der beim Publikum schnell und leicht negative Reaktionen hervorruft – in seinen zehn Titeln einen erzählerischen Ansatz.

„Unser letztes Album war persönlicher und auf unsere Art ernsthaft poetisch, daher konnten wir uns textlich nur wieder in die Gosse begeben, wo wir uns wohlfühlen. Auf diesem Album haben wir uns unserer dunklen Seite gestellt. Wir haben uns mit Soziopathie, Persönlichkeitsstörungen, Konzepten des Bösen und Natur vs. Erziehung auseinandergesetzt und sind aus diesem Prozess mit einigen brutalen Geschichten hervorgegangen, die aus unserer charakteristischen Perspektive als schlechte Verlierer erzählt werden, die sich weigern, zu verlieren. Hier gibt es keine Guten“, erklärt Trevor Reilly.

„Cheap Heat“ wird am 27. Februar 2026 via Creator-Destructor Records erscheinen. Vorab gibt es mit „Midnight Ghost“ einen weiteren Video-Clip.

Auch 2026 geht das EASTER CROSS FESTIVAL in eine neue Runde. Stattfinden wird das Indoor-Event am 4. und 5. April 2026 in der Neckarhalle in Oberndorf am Neckar. Tickets gibt es im Vorverkauf für 84,90€ zzgl. Gebühren über die offizielle Festival-Website. Tagestickets schlagen mit je 54,90€ zzgl. Gebühren zu Buche.

Mit der Bestätigung von IGNITE komplettierten die Veranstalter das Line-up bereits im Herbst 2025. Zuvor gab man mit SAMURAI PIZZA CATS sowie STAIN THE CANVAS zwei weitere Acts bekannt. Eine zweite Bandwelle hat außerdem den Headliner J.B.O., INFECTED RAIN, BUTCHER BABIES sowie STEPFATHER FRED für das Event enthüllt. Dagegen mussten CYPECORE ihre Teilnahme leider absagen.

Auftreten werden 2026 des Weiteren TBS, RAGE, THE BROWNING, PARASITE INC., NECROTTED, DEFOCUS sowie THE DEFECT.

Anreise und Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten
Die Anreise zum Festival ist sowohl per PKW als auch mit der Bahn möglich. Die Neckarhalle ist vom Bahnhof in ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Parkmöglichkeiten an der Location stehen zur Verfügung, weitere nahegelegene Möglichkeiten sollen in Kürze bekannt gegeben werden.

Besucher des Festivals erhalten sowohl im örtlichen „Gasthof Hecht“ als auch im Gästehaus „Das Georg“ 10% Buchungsrabatt (weitere Infos: easter-cross.de). Weitere Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten listet das Unterkunftsverzeichnis der Stadt Oberndorf am Neckar. Eine Campingmöglichkeit vor Ort gibt es hingegen nicht, allerdings befindet sich beim Freibad Oberndorf ein kleiner Zeltplatz, der gegen Gebühr genutzt werden kann.

THE SHEEPDOGS melden sich mit neuer Musik zurück: Die Single „Nobody But You“ gewährte einen ersten Einblick in das neue Album „Keep Out Of The Storm“, jetzt folgt nach dem Video zum Titelstück mit „I Do“ noch ein Clip.

Auf der Scheibe enthalten sind elf Tracks – es handelt sich dabei um die ersten Aufnahmen seit dem Weggang von Drummer Sam Corbett. Stattdessen habe man nun mit einer Reihe von Gastschlagzeugern zusammengearbeitet.

„Keep Out Of The Storm“ wurde gemeinsam mit Thomas D’arcy aufgenommen und von Ewan Currie produziert. Das Album erscheint am 27. Februar 2026 über das eigene Label Right On Records.

Mit „Duality“ schlugen VENUES im Herbst 2025 ein neues Kapitel auf: Die Single folgte auf das Album „Transience“ (2024) und ist weiterhin als Videoclip bei YouTube abrufbar. Nun setzt die Modern / Alternative Metal-Band ihr Reise mit einem weiteren Track fort: „Hollow Walls“ bei YouTube.

Ob „Duality“ und „Hollow Walls“ bereits der erste Vorgeschmack auf ein neues Album sind, ist derzeit noch nicht bekannt.

Auf dem Papier scheint die Sache klar: kürzere Songs, prominente Clean-Vocals – MØL möchten auf Kosten ihrer Identität ein breiteres Publikum ansprechen. Tatsächlich könnte „Dreamcrush“ aufgrund der zurückgeschraubten Härte so manchem alteingesessenen Fan vor den Kopf stoßen; gleichzeitig öffnen sich die Dänen ungezwungenen Soundscapes, die mal verträumt-entrückt, dann wieder ruppig und zerklüftet wirken.

Die DNA des Quintetts ist somit keineswegs verschwunden, obgleich atmosphärisch doch die Wärme dominiert. Das unterstreichen die flächigen Synthesizer im Opener „DREAM“, welche die Seele in ähnlicher Weise zu streicheln vermögen, wie es DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL so oft tun. Dass der Blackgaze MØLs nun stärker auf Kontraste setzt, ist zudem kein Nachteil: Das Spannungsfeld, in dem „Små Forlis“ agiert, lebt von seinen Eruptionen.

Auch sonst spielt die Band ihre neue gewonnene Liebe zum Gegensätzlichen aus: Zurückgenommen und konsterniert beginnt „Hud“, bevor mit der einsetzenden Metal-Instrumentierung der Klargesang gegen harsche Screams eingetauscht wird. Die nachdenklichen Ansätze des Stücks funktionieren deshalb so gut, weil „Young“ unmittelbar zuvor eher die traditionellen Tugenden des Bandsounds ins Visier genommen hatte: extreme Vocals gepaart mit einer tragenden Leadgitarre.

In die andere Ecke verorten lassen sich indes „A Former Blueprint“ sowie die Lead-Single „Garland“, wo Frontmann Kim Song Sternkopf vor verträumt-verspannter Kulisse den Indie / Alternative Rock-Geist der frühen 2000er heraufbeschwört. Natürlich geht es auch hier nicht gänzlich ohne Biss, der selbst im weitgehend instrumental angelegten „Favour“ mit Akustik-Gitarren-Untermalung irgendwann zuschnappt.

Für ein Blackgaze-Werk ist „Dreamcrush“ ungewohnt geschmeidig intoniert
Einzig an Tempo fehlt es „Dreamcrush“ beizeiten, was das entschlossene „Mimic“ zum Ende hin nicht alleine auffangen kann. Dennoch bleibt der Track ein wichtiges Ausrufezeichen, um uns für das Finale neu einzunorden. Für „Crush“ wagen sich MØL zum einzigen Mal jenseits der Fünfminuten-Marke, indem sie rockige Harmonien gegen garstige Screams und packende Melodieführung ausspielen.

Sicherlich spricht die Band mit diesem Mix auch ein breiteres Publikum an, doch sollten wir uns allein davon keineswegs blenden lassen: Was auf dem Papier eindeutig scheint, bildet tatsächlich eine interessante Schnittmenge nicht unähnlich der Hernagehensweisen von LANTLÔS, doch gleichzeitig sanfter und bewusst geschmeidiger intoniert. „Dreamcrush“ ist dadurch glatter als seine Vorgänger, fühlt sich in seiner eigenen kleinen Nische aber wie zu Hause.

And that feeling is not there anymore

There is a point, somewhere between the end of summer and the first honest chill of September, where romance becomes an idea you carry rather than a person you hold. Philadelphia’s Forest Circles locate that point and press on it gently, as if checking for a bruise.

Astronaut unfolds like a private transmission intercepted at dusk, Angel Ocaña’s voice light yet loaded, each phrase suspended in a thin atmosphere of doubt and desire. He remains bound to the one who has drifted away, and though time has passed, the body knows what pride attempts to conceal: the bones registering absence with forensic precision. Jealousy slips in almost imperceptibly, regret close behind, as the song circles separation without spectacle, moving patiently, carrying its memory with quiet insistence.

Ocaña’s elegant arrangement resists clutter. Synths swell in slow arcs, then recede, as though measuring breath. A grand piano appears not as decoration but as punctuation, striking clean, considered notes that open space rather than fill it. Rhythm here is less propulsion than presence, a soft insistence that the heart keeps time even when the future feels stalled. There is tenderness, and there is possession, and they coexist without resolution.

Who is to blame when love thins out? This track looks upward, toward stars that offer distance instead of direction. He looks sideways, toward the rival who now receives the kiss that once felt permanent. The conflict is intimate, almost domestic, yet it hints at something cosmic: endings that do not conclude but linger as altered states.

The black-and-white video enhances this suspended atmosphere. Static merges with memory. A sparkler ignites in the darkness; a hand traces a wooden fence; grain sways in the wind; the sound of a piano call echoes in a space that feels both current and remembered. These images seem ritualistic, like small ceremonies for a relationship already stored away. The style has a slight psychedelic quality, with a gentle distortion that hints at how memories reshape reality.

Fragility can certainly radiate, but in Astronaut, distance becomes a medium through which love is examined rather than erased. The result is a song that balances ache and acceptance, its orbit steady, its light low but constant.

There is something deliciously perverse about timing. Valentine’s Day: roses, restaurants, ritual romance. And here comes Chelsey Boy, Los Angeles singer, songwriter, and multimedia artist, lowering the lights and stretching the room into something cooler, stranger, slightly dangerous.

Formerly one half of Intimatchine and now aligned with Cold Showers, she has long operated in that fertile zone where electronic pulse meets post-punk poise and darkwave desire. Her voice is the instrument that bends the air: at once controlled and on the brink, a tightrope between composure and collapse. It doesn’t shout. It insinuates. It lingers in the bloodstream.

Her cover of Singapore Sling’s 2011 track Freaks feels less like reclamation. The original drifted with minimalist ease; Chelsey Boy slows the bloodstream further, thickens the temperature, and introduces a sly trace of menace. The space widens…the tension tightens. There’s a teasing cruelty at play, an elegance edged with something feral. You at first might think of HTRK’s cool remove, Tamaryn’s gauze, Drab Majesty’s otherworldly glow, Zola Jesus at her most imperious, Garbage in nocturnal mood – but here Chelsey Boy moves at her own deliberate pace with this version. It’s strange, seductive, and certainly ominous.

“I’ve always loved Singapore Sling,” she confesses. “I heard Freaks again while driving out to Joshua Tree and thought, yes…but let’s make it cruel. A slow burn for my fellow yearners this Valentine’s Day.”

Cruel is the right word. The track unfolds like a held breath. Synths hover, bass lines circle, percussion taps at the ribs. Her strong vocal glides above it all, at times restrained to a whisper, at times fraying at the edges, suggesting hysteria without surrendering to it. The result is intimate and unsettling. Romance, recast. Desire, disciplined. For all you lonelyhearts out there munching on Brach’s conversation hearts through the tears, this is a cathartic balm.

In a world of your own 

Somewhere in Sweden, where the trees stand as silent witnesses and rehearsal rooms feel like chapels, The Secret French Postcards have been quietly refining their sense of drama since 2016. Olli Ohlander stepped away once, trading amplifiers for asphalt and skate decks, only to return with a clearer appetite for atmosphere. Alongside Fredrik Ringvall, Peter Björkman, and Martin Broman, he now shapes songs that feel both windswept and intimate.

Blush embodies that duality with poise. Guitars sweep and shimmer, outlining crisp lines over a steady rhythm, while Ohlander’s voice dips into a smooth, persuasive croon. A hint of harmonica, a whisper of blues, flows through the arrangement, anchoring the song in an earthy tone even as it hints at the romantic coolness of early ’80s nocturnal pop. James Aparicio’s mix creates space, allowing each element to have its own emotional nuance. The overall sound echoes influences like The Church, The The, and She Past Away.

The lyrics circle a figure who is publicly affable yet privately barricaded, guarding their wounded heart. As the band explains: “Blush explores a broken heart and the struggle to let loved ones in, showing how someone can appear warm to the world while being emotionally closed off, with blushing symbolizing love, vulnerability, or hurt.”

The accompanying video for Blush extends the idea in stark monochrome. Masks drift across the screen. Windows suggest alternate selves. A garden becomes a theatre of stillness. A barstool holds someone alone with their thoughts. It feels like wandering through disparate memories, staged in film noir-style fragments.

Since Les Éditions Ostra through to Life Got Claws, the band’s trajectory has moved through Backmask Records and Cold Transmission Music with steady intent. Plans for 2026 promise further exploration and, crucially, the stage where these songs can stretch into the room and test their tensile strength. Blush stands as a marker along that route: poised, precise, and quietly piercing.

We are creatures born of a star, yet here we stand, daring to defy it. Alex Okami‘s latest single, Night Terrors, opens like a rebellion against the very light that made us: an oath sworn in the glare of creation.

Drawing from the cool austerity of The Cure, the devotional ache of Depeche Mode, and the stark romanticism of Joy Division, Alex Okami works within a nocturnal lineage fluent in restraint and controlled desire. His sound carries the poise associated with Twin Tribes and the tensile minimalism of She Past Away, shaping familiar materials into something personal and pressurized. Night Terrors forms the project’s dark heart.

“In a world full of hatred, I find solace in these Night Terrors,” says Okami.

That line feels like creed. Devotion becomes a gravitational pull, drawing two souls into a perilous orbit where love and annihilation share a trajectory. Dreams blur into pursuit, pursuit into obsession. In another’s fear, the self is revealed. Romance ignites, then combusts: stardust colliding with darkness, desire rushing headlong toward doom. It moves with a steady churn: guitars circling as if pacing a locked room, drums landing with a stubborn thud. There’s a nervous brightness in the riff, born from staring too long at something forbidden. His low, steady baritone drops into and anchors the mix, steady enough to make the walls feel like they’re quietly closing in.  The result thrives on that tightly held tension.

I don’t wanna hear more nonsense now

Night becomes a small act of resistance. When the day has been parceled, priced, and exhausted, darkness offers back the self unmetered. In the hours without bosses or ledgers, desire regains its pulse. Escape is a refusal to let every breath be productive. To choose the night is to claim the preservation of one’s inner life, briefly sovereign, fleetingly whole.

South American post-punks PILGRIMS step forward with Blissing Hour, the third single from their forthcoming album Gemini, arriving like a pressure release timed to collective exhaustion. The song tempers post-punk severity with a swell of euphoria, letting tension breathe as the rhythm nudges bodies out of paralysis and into movement. Sung in both English and Spanish, it treats the night as common ground; a place where urgency slackens, instincts sharpen, and connection feels immediate rather than mediated.

That instinct animates the song’s center. Dance floors become temporary sanctuaries, sensation a shared language. Nighttime here is a claimed space, alive with agency, where pleasure carries purpose and delight signals survival.

“Joy can be a form of resistance,” explains vocalist Juls Garat. “This is true for everyone, but especially for marginalized groups. If we’re not hustling, we’re supposed to be doom scrolling and getting depressed and enraged by watching the news and fighting with strangers on social media. But we can always choose stepping into the real world. We can choose community and hope and joy and art and fun. And sometimes that’s the rebellion we need.”

Directed by Stephanie Houten, the performance video captures the band’s onstage presence in a darkened club, weaving it together with moments of ritualistic dance and blissful reverie.

Based in Boston, PILGRIMS began in 2018 as Pilgrims of Yearning, founded by Chilean vocalist Juls Garat and Colombian musician Claudio Marcio after meeting in Chile and emigrating together to the U.S. Their sound has been described as “your soundtrack to introspection, lament, and disdain,” and as an eclectic mix of post-punk, coldwave, and Latin American influences. They have previously shared stages with She Past Away, Kaelan Mikla and Vision Video.

Early releases, including 2022’s Hadal EP and the single La Mar, paired rigid rhythms with airy guitars and synths, nodding toward post-punk lineage while asserting a clear emotional center. Now joined by bassist Sean Woodbury, the band reintroduces itself with a sharpened name and focus.

“The name PILGRIMS reflects not only our spiritual journey, but our living experience as immigrants, our pilgrimage,” Marcio explains. “The new album is touched by our experience as immigrants existing in this moment and place in history. We feel a lot of people can relate to the archetype of the traveler, the wanderer.” On Blissing Hour, that motion is felt in every step forward.
