„Mit ‚Infinity‘ fing alles an”, erinnert sich END OF GREEN-Sänger Michelle Darkness. “Dieses Album ist der Startpunkt einer über 30-jährigen Reise. Diese Band ist mein Leben, das kann und will ich gar nicht anders sagen. Ohne diese Band, ohne meine Jungs gibt es mich nicht. Es geht mir nur um die Musik. Januar 2025 via Reaper Entertainment als Doppel-CD und Doppel-LP, das Set beinhaltet die Original- und die Neuversion des Albums.

THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA stellen mit ihrem siebten Album eine klare Forderung: “Give Us The Moon” kommt am 31. Januar 2025 raus, im Februar folgt eine Europatour mit Deutschland-Konzerten in München, Aschaffenburg, Nürnberg, Karlsruhe, Berlin und Hamburg.

Mit einem Video zu “Shooting Velvet” teilen die Retrorocker jetzt die erste Single und beschreiben sie folgendermaßen:

“ Hier ist der erste Vorgeschmack auf das neue TNFO-Universum, das den Namen Give Us The Moon trägt. Lasst euch von dem pulsierenden Fundament und dem grandiosen Refrain in den Bann ziehen. In diesem Song geht es darum, die Höhen zu halten, die Tiefen zu bekämpfen und niemals einen Beat auszulassen. Wir werden euch vom Mond aus beobachten, wenn ihr euch dafür bereit macht. Viel Spaß mit ‚Shooting Velvet‘!“

In das neue Album steckte die Band nach eigener Aussage so viel Mühe wie noch nie zuvor:

Der Nachfolger des 2022er Debütalbums “The Ashen Abhorrence” ist fertig: PESTILENT HEX veröffentlichen am 29. November 2024 ihr zweites Album “Sorceries of Sanguine & Shadow”.

Nun kann man sich auch “Through Mirrors Beyond” bei YouTube anhören. Mit ‘Sciomancy and Sortilege’  bei YouTube stellte die finnische Black Metal-Band Anfang Oktober den ersten der neuen Songs vor.

PESTILENT HEX sind Multiintrumentalist L. Oathe (DESOLATE SHRINE, CONVOCATION, ORDINANCE) und Sänger M. Malignant (CORPSESSED, TYRANNY, PROFETUS), das Duo beschreibt die neue Platte so:

„Während das erste Album „The Ashen Abhorrence“ eher ein enges Konzept hatte und eine Geschichte erzählte, verfolgt unser zweites Album einen anderen Ansatz: Jeder Song ist eine eigene Geschichte.  Verbunden wird alles mit einem großen Oberthema: Abstieg in die Nachtseite des Seins, Hexerei, Mythen und Nekromantie. Wir verwenden verschiedene Medien wie Blut, Alchemie und Träume, um einen Blick auf die andere Seite zu werfen. Dies ist die oberflächliche Ebene. UNREQVITED-Bandkopf 鬼 (Geist) hat eine ausgeprägte Vorliebe für wunderbare musikalische Kreationen, die ihre Krallen und Reißzähne erst bei näherer Betrachtung und nach einer längeren Beschäftigung mit ihnen offenbaren. Das Soloprojekt hat Wurzeln im Blackgaze, aber auch Ableger in Ambient, Post-Rock, Post-Black Metal und andere artverwandte Stilrichtungen. Mit dem siebten Album "A Pathway to the Moon" gelingt 鬼 ein beeindruckender Evolutionssprung. Ein Element dieser bedeutenden klanglichen Entwicklung von UNREQVITED ist die Erkundung dominanter lyrischer Dimensionen. Dieser Schritt weg von weiten Klanglandschaften und hin zu mehr Gesang ist auch auf den Übergang von UNREQVITEDzu einer Live-Band zurückzuführen. 鬼 hat "A Pathway to the Moon" sorgfältig mit Blick auf geplante Konzerte komponiert. Dadurch ist ein Album entstanden, das als eine Art Blackgaze-Soundtrack gehört werden kann – was der Bonustrack des Artbooks, eine Coverversion der Hans Zimmer "Interstellar"-Komposition 'Cornfield Chase', nachdrücklich unterstreicht. Trotz der Kursänderung zu Gesang und Lyrik bleiben auf "A Pathway to the Moon" auch die leichten und erhabenen Passagen erhalten, die auf "Beautiful Ghosts" (2021) neben den üblichen dunklen Einschüben verstärkt zum Einsatz kamen. Das vermehrte Einstreuen von Klargesang auf dem Vorgängeralbum entpuppt sich im Nachhinein als Vorbote des Evolutionssprunges. Die Kernelemente, die UNREQVITED in der Vergangenheit ausgemacht haben, kommen auch weiterhin zum Einsatz: Die massiven hymnischen Refrains von "Mosaic I: L'amour et l'ardeur" (2018) sind auf "A Pathway to the Moon" ebenso präsent wie die schlichten melancholischen Melodien des 2016er Debütalbums "Disquiet" und die orchestrale Erhabenheit von "Empathica" (2020). Seit 鬼 im Jahr 2016 UNREQVITED als das musikalische Vehikel für sein facettenreiches Schaffen konzipiert hat, lässt sich sein Projekt als ein ständig mutierendes Wesen mit erheblicher stilistischer Spannweite beschreiben. Mit "A Pathway to the Moon" führt der Kanadier erneut die Stränge seiner bisherigen Arbeiten zusammen, wagt sich aber zugleich auch auf musikalisches Neuland vor. Mit "A Pathway to the Moon" rücken UNREQVITED näher an ein traditionelles Rock- und Metal-Album auf Basis von Songs heran als jemals zuvor – doch zugleich hat es auch alle Qualitäten eines Soundtracks, der auf eine höchst faszinierende Klangreise entführt.

While the world becomes undone
The endless pursuit of material possessions, a hollow echo of humanity’s most misguided desires, traps us in a futile cycle. We shuffle mindlessly toward each new product, each new object of fleeting satisfaction, as if the next purchase might fill the growing void within. But in this compulsive race, we lose sight of the world crumbling beneath our feet, a world steadily unraveling while our eyes remain fixed on meaningless novelties. The marketplace of materialism offers no true nourishment, only distractions—trinkets that sedate the mind while the soul withers.

In chasing these illusions, we blind ourselves to the deeper, more enduring truths of existence. We erode not just the natural world, but our own humanity, slowly becoming mere consumers, shackled to an insatiable appetite for what can never truly fulfill. And so, the world decays, not from neglect, but from our obsessive need to possess what we do not need, to fill the emptiness within us.

Los Angeles industrial trio Fact Pattern has unleashed a new single and video about this collective madness: The Same Outcome.

Drawing on the raw energy of NIN, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, and Type O Negative, the trio—Flux (vocals, guitars, keys, programming), Jack Lowd (bass, vocals), and Corey Hirsch (drums)—fuses thunderous guitars, pounding percussion, and driving bass lines with jagged, metallic samples that pulse with a cold, mechanical menace. There’s a roughness, a tension, that courses through their music, something hard and unyielding, like machinery grinding against the edges of despair.

In The Same Outcome, they turn their focus on the barren pursuit of material gain. The lyrics cut through the shiny facade of consumerism, speaking to the hollow act of chasing product after product as the world slips away, eroding beneath the weight of our collective ignorance. The song urges a reckoning—a demand to face the pain we’ve bred rather than turn away. There’s a call to let go of society’s false promises and take a moment to reflect, for the root of our struggle lies not in what we lack, but in how we perceive it. Employing melancholic and enraged electronics, heavy riffs, and massive drum sounds, The Same Outcome explores a wide range of tones and emotions in the midst of a declining world.

The surreal, self-directed video flickers like a half-forgotten dream. Through fogged glass, the band moves like specters, each figure shadowed by a crawling, unsettling creature. Whether these intruders are dangerous or merely curious, we can’t say for sure, but their presence gnaws at the edges of comfort. It’s a reminder, like the creeping black mass from The X-Files, that something unseen and insidious – be it greed, hunger for power, or a victim mentality – is always lurking, always seeping into the cracks of our fragile reality.

Here, the lines between menace and mystery blur. The creatures slip in unnoticed, like nightmares creeping into the waking world, as if to remind us of the silent invaders in our own lives. The fog thickens, the glass blurs, and what’s on the other side—whether a threat or a mere reflection of our fear—remains just out of reach, a warning as much as a question, unanswered but ever present.

We stride toward the future with such reckless haste. Automation has consumed industries whole. But as we surrender more control to technology, are we careening toward an inevitable Model Collapse? When the systems fail, chaos will not be an abstraction but a certainty—a global upheaval where the consequences extend far beyond the code.” It is the question of our time: can we master what we create, or will it master us?

In the vast and shimmering corridors of digital dominion, as foreseen by minds like Ray Bradbury, Aldous Huxley, William Gibson, and Philip K. Dick, model collapse is not a mere malfunction—it is a storm of systemic disorder. It arises when an AI, swollen with the endless streams of data feeding its algorithms, refines itself to a point of self-destruction. The machine, so confident in its calculations, begins to stumble, tripping over the very logic it once mastered. It falters, unable to grasp the unruly and unpredictable nature of reality, and what follows is more than hypothetical. The consequences manifest as corrupted conclusions, faulty forecasts, and decisions that reverberate through the delicate infrastructure of finance, healthcare, and beyond.

Vancouver’s own electronic iconoclast, Bill Leeb (Front Line Assembly, Delerium, Skinny Puppy), steps into new territory with his solo debut Model Kollapse, released through Metropolis Records. He also unveils the video for Muted Obsession, a collaboration featuring Shannon Hemmett and Jason Corbett of ACTORS.  This album also involves an appearance by long-term Delerium collaborator Mimi Page.

Model Kollapse marks Leeb’s first solo venture since the mid-80s days of Front Line Assembly, when he used to make recordings in his bedroom, releasing them on limited edition cassette.  The entire album is a masterpiece of sound and fury – some of Leeb’s most compelling work in his four-decade career. The album reflects the dystopian, nihilistic world we have created in so many different ways, ultimately asking the question “When will the human voice be lost to AI and technology….or will that be what saves us in the end?”  

Demons dives into this particular mire of modern malaise as it opens the album. The song is a razor-sharp slice of industrial EBM, immediately hurling us into a harsh, synthetic underworld as Leeb mixes his trademark creeping electronic gloom with a high-octane jolt. It’s a fierce, frenetic fusion that guarantees a charged, adrenaline-pumping ride through the dark. Demons, lyrically, serves as a grim exploration of the shadows we wrestle with daily: an anthem for the adversity-stricken souls grappling with the grind of purpose, joy, and creativity amidst an omnipresent tech storm.



Exotic Matter opens with a foreboding whisper, Leeb’s voice low and deliberate, setting the stage for what feels like a storm brewing on the horizon. It soon erupts into a jagged, wild performance, raw and unruly. His hushed tones coil tightly, creating a simmering tension before snapping into a frenzy—a chaotic, glitch-ridden burst of manic energy that twists and turns unpredictably. It’s as if the track itself is running on pure adrenaline, careening through scattered beats and fractured rhythms,

Standout track Neuromotive jolts to life with a jaunty, mechanical rhythm—its beat bouncing with precision, tight as clockwork. There’s a pulse, steady yet playful, underpinned by wildly inventive breakdowns that twist and turn, each one more unexpected than the last. Otherworldly voices drift in, adding an eerie, alien charm, while the relentless backbeat digs in deep, infectious and irresistible. The track hums with energy, a perfect blend of order and chaos

Folded Hands creeps in with a garbled murmur, sputtering through crackling static before sinking into a slow, sinister stride. Its tempo lumbers forward, heavy and deliberate, conjuring the dark, mechanical menace of Skinny Puppy and later Damned. The beat drags like footsteps in thick mud, weighed down by a sense of impending doom. Staticky fragments of transmissions flicker through the mix, ghostly echoes from forgotten airwaves.

Pinned Down hurls itself headlong into Leeb’s harsher industrial territory, grinding through mechanical beats and jagged rhythms. Then, without warning, it falls away, leaving moments of haunting silence, punctuated by an eerie, plaintive howl. The pauses stretch out like breaths held too long, steeped in paranoia and tension. It stands as the album’s boldest track, unflinching in its willingness to play with our nerves, testing the limits of sound and silence. Each shift feels deliberate yet disorienting, an experiment in unsettling contrasts, where emotion and machinery clash and converge in unexpected, unsettling ways.

Tough yet tuneful, Terror Forms, featuring Shannon Hemmett (Actors, Leathers), slices through with sharp precision, built on beats that punch and melodies that linger. It grabs hold of strong songwriting over ambient drift, mixing the muscle of hard-hitting electronic rhythms with a sly nod to artists like Gesaffelstein and ADULT. There’s a darkwave pulse running through its core, striking a taut balance between grit and groove, never losing sight of the dancefloor.



Leeb’s restless ingenuity thrums through Muted Obsession, where cold, mechanical beats clash with ghostly harmonies, a reflection of his tireless experimentation. Shannon Hemmett and Jason Corbett, steeped in their own raw intensity, sharpen the track’s edges, while the video captures the stark, unsettling allure of their union. Directed by Tim Hill, the video spins a tale of blurred lines—fantasy and reality in a world of virtual façades. “How far would you go in this virtual social world we have created?” he asks. “Are we truly all alone? Who wants to play?”

Simulation surges forward, a relentless motorik beat propelling it like a machine in motion, steady and insistent. Leeb finds his stride here, spinning a tale that feels plucked from the pages of a dystopian dream. His words ripple through the track, measured and methodical, each line steeped in a strange tension between what is real and what is illusion. The rhythm never wavers, carrying the weight of his poetry as it wraps itself in a fog of unease, like wandering through a future both familiar and foreign. The question lingers—what’s true, and what’s just a trick of the mind?

Infernum slinks in, sinister and creeping, with synths that slide through the track like cold steel. Faint sirens wail in the distance, mixed with eerie samples that echo with despair. The music lurches forward, mechanical and menacing, as though dragged by robotic claws through static-laden air. Strange bleeps and bloops punctuate the sound, an unsettling reminder that something unnatural has taken hold. It feels as if machines have invaded, infiltrating humanity’s final breath, each pulse and pause sending shivers through the spine, a chilling blend of technology and dread. The album concludes with a stomper: Fusion, a track that feels less like a dance track and more like a mission.

Die Death Metal-Band SHRIEKING DEMONS hat einen Labeldeal bei Transcending Obscurity Records unterschrieben. Im Zuge dessen werden die Italiener ihr neues Album “The Festering Dwellers” veröffentlichen. Es ist das erste Album der 2021 gegründeten Band, die im Gründungsjahr mit der EP “Diabolical Regurgitations” debütierten.

BBroadcasting from the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, Ben Nelson’s project Stare Away captures the essence of the raw rebellion that defined post-punk’s golden age while drawing inspiration from the underrated and unsung heroes of the genre. This solo venture reverberates with the spirits of the late ’70s and ’80s, weaving intricate layers of synth and bass that paved the path that propels his music forward. At its core, a restless rhythm pulsates, creating an electric tension between the past and the present, and between memory and innovation.

Nelson nods to the heroes of the old guard—the gritty charm of The Sound, the moody sway of Lowlife, the peculiar magic of The Teardrop Explodes, and the brooding soul of Joy Division But Stare Away doesn’t linger long in the past. It transports listeners to unexpected realms, inviting them to sway in the delightful in-between.

Stare Away’s latest offering, the brisk and buoyant Through On and On, reaches like a hand in the dark, seeking ‘some sort of hope.’ True to Nelson’s blueprint, a throbbing bassline drives forward, its pulse steady beneath the beat of retro drums, setting the stage for synths to swell and shimmer. Surf-rock guitar cuts through, a bright streak of sound.

Nelson’s baritone, deep and resonant, rises above it all—recalling the rich timbre of Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet. His voice moves with the same solemn grace, sweeping across the post-punk percussion and airy atmospherics, grounding the song while letting it drift skyward. The tune dances between nostalgia and something new, its rhythm propelling forward, yet holding fast to echoes from the past. Through On and On sways with hope, resilience, and the feeling that, despite it all, the beat will carry on, thumping through every twist of uncertainty.

“When creating the track at the time I was diving deep into the lyrics of the late Craig Lorentson from the Scottish group Lowlife, who’s always played a huge role for me when it comes to creating vocal melodies and writing lyrics,” says Nelson.

Messe Dresden, Dresden, Germany 26th October 2024Arch Enemy & In Flames - “Rising from the North” Tour 2024 - Special Guest: Soilwork Wow! That concert evening was a blast. Round about 6,500 people visited this event at the Messe Dresden. A great location for an event with so many guests. The Messe Dresden is easy to reach and it is easy to park nearby. Doors opened at 18:00 and people were waiting in front of the Messe Dresden in a very long row. But the security at the entrance did a very good job and everything went smoothly and the people had not long to wait outside to enter the location. SOILWORK, IN FLAMES, ARCH ENEMY! That was such a fantastic line-up. Swedish Heavy Metal at its best! And all 3 bands played a fantastic set! Three bands that made Swedish Heavy Metal history thrilled fans all evening long. I also had the honour of taking part and taking photos. You can find some impressions of the concert in the gallery. Have fun!

Madrid’s New Wave Kill is saddling up once more, charging headfirst into new terrain from their post-punk beginnings. Felipe Vein’s guitar slices through like a sharpened blade, while Iulia Richea’s keys shimmer with cold precision. Juan Córdoba’s relentless drumbeat drives the pulse, and Nico Aguirre’s bassline rumbles low in a thundering foundation.

Their full-length debut, Stitches for the Soul, promises something bolder, reaching beyond the echoes of The Smiths, early U2, and Chameleons. This isn’t just a nod to the past—this is a full gallop into something fresh, restless, and raw. The album, born from pandemic-era isolation, finally took shape in early 2024 with the deft hand of Swedish producer Ola Ersjford (Lucifer, Tribulation) steering the ship. With a message of hope buried within their Western-inflected melodies, New Wave Kill pulls from the darkness of goth, post-punk, and neofolk.

Their sound speaks to fans of Bauhaus, Joy Division, The Cult, Nick Cave, Chelsea Wolfe, and more. It’s a call to the restless and the wounded, a dive into the brooding depths with a touch of redemption lighting the way. This band is poised to kick down doors and make their mark.

“Stitches for the Soul is the closing of a very important chapter, but it is also the beginning of a new one,” says Vein. “The songs on this album helped me through difficult times, and I hope they can help others too. We are excited to finally show our work and hit the stages hard.”

Hope opens the album like a cold wind through cracked windows, its spoken word drifting over eerie, atmospheric synths. There’s a stillness in the air, like the calm before a storm. But that storm hits with the standout track, Dancing While You Cry, a propulsive jolt of energy that rips through your veins with its compelling old-school post-punk romance. The guitar work soars, cutting sharp and clean, while Vein’s deep baritone rolls like thunder, commanding attention. His baritone voice seems to carry the weight of a thousand stories, echoing the raw, urgent sounds of The Chameleons, The Sound, and Sad Lovers and Giants. There’s a tension in the track, a push and pull between the beautiful melody and the darker undercurrents that surge just beneath. The hook sinks in deep, a refrain that stays with you, as if the song itself is still reverberating in the bones, haunting you like a cathartic heartbreak.

No Door Cage stirs up the ghost of classic gothic rock anthems from a parallel universe, sounding like a lost Nick Cave collaboration with The Mission, wrapped in the grit of a spaghetti western score. Vein’s voice, plaintive yet firm, cuts through the steady plod of the drumline, as if telling a tale that’s weathered countless storms. The guitar twangs with a sense of longing, while the chorus swells into something bigger—beautiful chorals colliding with raw emotion. It’s not a gentle rise, but an eruption, the kind that leaves you feeling the weight of every note, every breath. The song rides the line between grit and grace, between solitude and strength.

Somber and brooding, Between Shadows charges forward with sharp post-punk riffs, a brilliant and pulsating classic Anka Wolbert-style post-punk bassline, and tight snares that snap with precision. Crisp hi-hats drive the rhythm, while darkwave aesthetics blend seamlessly with baroque touches, creating a dynamic tension. The bridge tantalizes, pulling the listener deeper into its layers. The track pulses with an undercurrent of rebellion, a raw energy pushing against the surface-level world, a defiant call to those unwilling to conform or lose themselves in a sea of falsehoods.

Soft Kiss whispers with a gothic charm, its arrangement lush and tender but never overbearing. Jangling guitars ring out, airy synths drifting like a mist in the night, while a persistent tambourine taps through it all, keeping time like a heartbeat. There’s a bittersweet quality here, something soft and intimate, yet strong enough to hold its ground. It feels like a stolen moment, fleeting yet unforgettable, leaving its echo behind in the quiet spaces. It’s delicate but resolute, holding fast to its quiet power. Quemar burns with a faster, fiercer energy, charging forward with urgency, sung in their native Spanish. It’s got the raw, pulsing bite of Killing Joke mixed with Theatre of Hate. The song explodes into jagged riffs and heavy beats, only to zag into quieter, almost whispered moments. There’s tension in the way it twists and turns, moving from intensity to calm and back again.



Deepest Feelings takes its time, slower and deliberate, swinging between sorrow and exaltation, digging deep into the buried corners of the soul. It pulls at what we often keep hidden, laying bare the struggle of revealing those tender truths. The song moves like a confession, with a quiet intensity that presses against the heart’s deepest tensions. There’s a beauty in the rawness, the way it sways between the ache of vulnerability and the surge of release, capturing that fragile balance most of us hesitate to confront. It’s a slow burn, full of truth and tremor.

Run Away rolls in slow, a Western-tinged ballad heavy with ominous undertones, carried by haunting guitar work. There’s a sense of something lurking just out of sight, as Vein’s tremolo-laden voice slices through the desert air with a weight that feels ancient. The song meanders with purpose, drawing from the well of Nick Cave’s brooding intensity, a slow burn that doesn’t need to rush. Paired with Cold Night, the track leans into that same deep gravitas, tapping into something raw and untamed, echoing the harsh beauty of forgotten landscapes and lives lived on the edge of nowhere.

Your Way speaks like a sharp wind through open fields, a reminder that youth slips through our fingers faster than we expect. It urges the listener to grasp hold of life, to act on desires, and throw fear to the fire. Age may weigh heavier, but the song reaffirms the need to live boldly and independently. Straying from their usual edge, it leans on deep vocals, acoustic strums, and the mournful wail of a violin. With echoes of Chelsea Wolfe and Nick Cave, it dips into neo-folk and dark Americana, injecting new life into old bones.  “The song is a trip to the past, a way to remember those moments when someone feels alive and is enjoying the moment,” says Felipe Vein. “What the song wants to convey is how these memories can be a source of inspiration and in turn, give you the strength you need in difficult times.”

“Birna”, das sechste Studioalbum von WARDRUNA, wird am 24. Januar 2025 über Sony Music und By Norse Music veröffentlicht. Birna ist ein altnordisches Wort für “Bärin”.

Nun gibt es ein zweites Video, WARDRUNA haben einen Clip zu “Hibjørnen” bei YouTube geteilt.

Einar Selvik kommentiert:

„Der Rhythmus des Bären verkörpert den Kreislauf des Lebens selbst: Wenn der Winter naht, legt er sich in seiner Höhle schlafen – zurück in den Mutterleib; sein Puls verlangsamt sich, sein Körper ist in eine Art Zwischentod eingekapselt. Wie ein Schlaflied nimmt ‚Hibjørnen‘ die Perspektive des winterschlafenden Bären und seiner Träume aus dem Inneren der Höhle ein. Der Hörer kehrt aus der Bärenhöhle zurück, um die Wunder der Natur bewusster und kontemplativer wahrzunehmen, gerade rechtzeitig für die frisch sprießenden Knospen.“

Im September veröffentlicht die norwegische Band die neue Single und ein Musikvideo zu „Himinndotter“. Komponist Einar Selvik erklärt:

„Himinndotter (Himmelstochter) ist Teil einer sechs Songs umfassenden Erkundung des Bären auf Wardrunas kommendem Album Birna (Bärenfrau). Der Titel spielt auf die weltweit verbreitete Vorstellung vom mythischen Ursprung des Bären als himmlisches Wesen an. Als Gäste sind die Mitglieder des norwegischen Chors ‚Koret Artemis‘ zu hören.“

Das Video zu „Himinndotter“ wurde im Rondane-Nationalpark in Norwegen gedreht, von Tuukka Koski inszeniert und von Breakfast Helsinki und Ragnarok Film produziert.

Live-Album ‚Live at the Acropolis‘
Mit dem neuen Album erscheint auch der Mitschnitt von WARDRUNAS Auftritt zur Tagundnachtgleiche im Weltkulturerbe Odeon des Herodes Atticus auf der Akropolis in Athen, ‚Live at the Acropolis‘ wird ebenfalls am 24. Januar 2025 veröffentlicht.  Die über zweistündige Show bietet  Live-Performances von Liedern aus der Diskografie von WARDRUNA wie „Helvegen“, „Kvitravn“, „Heimta Thurs“ und „Lyfjaberg“.

Schon ab Herbst 2024 sind WARDRUNA auf Tour, weitere Termine werden demnächst bekannt gegeben.

Die Alternative Rock / Metal-Band MUDSHARK hat mit “Beware Of The German Shepherd” eine neue EP angekündigt. Es ist nach “ZLV” (2023) die zweite EP der Briten und wird am 22. Die Nordic Folk / Ambient-Band FORNDOM hat mit “Moþir” ein neues Album angekündigt.

“Wie meine früheren Alben folgt auch dieses dem Kreislauf des Lebens, der in Dunkelheit und Chaos beginnt und in einem großen Crescendo endet, gefolgt von Stille. Ich hoffe, dass die Hörer nicht nur die Noten, sondern auch die Stille vor, zwischen und nach ihnen in sich aufnehmen werden. Denn in dieser Stille finden wir schließlich die wahre Mutter – das Unbekannte, das uns alle erwartet”, sagt Komponist Ludvig Swärd.

“Moþir” wird am 6. Dezember 2024 via Nordvis Produktion erscheinen. Vorab gibt es mit “Tunridor” – einem alten Wort für Hexen – einen Video-Clip.

Switzerland’s NONEXISTER thrives on the raw collision of electronic pulse and emotional exorcism, as though they’re soundtracking a late-night club buried deep in our collective soul. The Zurich-based group—Marco Neeser driving electronics, Nik Leuthold’s vocals cutting through, Reto “Fu” Gaffuri’s bass rumbling, Siro Müller pounding drums, and Silvan Gerhard’s sharp-edged guitar—swings between industrial highs and moshpit fury, blending chaos and control in equal measure.

What A Lie, their latest single from their album Demons, strips back the layers, first confronting the robber barons of our age—those who climb high and trample others on the way up. It speaks of men who shun ethics for profit, who exploit without shame and pride themselves on it. NONEXISTER casts a harsh light on the ruthless capitalists sitting in their towers, thriving on the suffering of others. It’s a raw reckoning, a call-out to the powerful who profit from the very chaos they create, unbothered by the damage left in their wake.

“As often in my lyrics, I am interested in the layers below, in the understanding of the phenomenon as such, in revealing the deeper structures of it, and not only in accusing one simple thing like the evil robber baron capitalist,” says Leuthold. “And the phenomenon is not at all exclusively bound to capitalism or in general to one certain sector of society or to one system. The way ruthless people in power pursue their goals is very similar in structure, no matter if they use a large corporation for it, a religion or something else.”

The core of What A Lie strikes at the heart of deception, laying bare the cruel kinship between tyrants who parade as saviours. The song doesn’t merely point fingers at men like Trump and Putin—it digs deeper, stripping away their gilded facades to show their common thirst for power. These so-called protectors peddle salvation and safety with one hand, while tightening the noose with the other. They stoke fear, feeding off the very threats they promise to shield us from, turning chaos into profit.

“The aim of the song is to put all that in line, to blame them all for being nothing else but mafia-like cult leaders who have no ethical values at all and no sympathy or empathy for anyone, not even – or even specially not – for their own followers,” says Leutheld. “And yes, I wanna blame especially political leaders and powerful people in the economy, because they always try to claim a certain reasonability and therefore are less easy to recognize as what they are. I wanna blame especially Donald Trump, because he is a particularly blatant specimen, because the election is the most topical issue at the moment and because the outcome of the election affects the whole planet. And if we provoke somebody with it, even better.”

The real crime lies in the illusion, the idea that they stand apart from one another, when in truth, they are but reflections in the same cracked mirror. Power, once tasted, never surrenders its grip, and these barons—whether in boardrooms or thrones—thrive on the misery they manufacture, control, and the falsehoods they spin to keep the rest of us in chains.

The stunning performance video, directed by Wouter Stoter, references the manic sermons of American televangelists, George Orwell’s chilling images from 1984,  and good old fashioned propaganda.

Demons takes a hard plunge into the deep, dark corners of the human spirit—chaotic, unsettling, full of tension and contradiction. The lyrics claw at the very soul, dragging the listener into a raw, emotional reckoning, while the music follows suit. Pummeling grooves pound through the tracks, ready to spark fury in any mosh pit, but it’s the eerie, creeping moments that burrow into your mind, lingering long after the last note fades.

Recorded in Marco’s home studio, New Sound Studio, and produced by Tommy Vetterli, the mastermind behind Coroner and a member of thrash legends Kreator, Demons carries that sharp edge. It swings between brutal force and strange, uneasy calm—moments that keep you alert, never quite sure when the next blow will land. It’s an unsettling exploration of all that we try to bury deep, but can never quite shake.

“I’m over the moon that our debut album Demons is finally finished,” says Leuthold. “It’s been a long journey and I’m very proud of the result. Working with Marco has been a real stroke of luck, taking us both to places we wouldn’t have reached on our own. So many great people have helped shape the final product, tweaking every detail so that this baby is a real beauty.”

Die Progressive Doom / Sludge Metal-Band ALKYMIST hat nach einem Video-Clip zu “Digging A Grave” mit “The Scent” auch den Opener ihres kommenden Albums “UnnDerr” als Video-Clip veröffentlicht. Es ist nach “Alkymist” (2018) und “Sanctuary” (2020) das dritte Album der Dänen und wird am 15. November 2024 via Indisciplinarian erscheinen.

Das Album taucht in die Zweideutigkeit dessen ein, was über der Oberfläche liegt und was darunter lauert… was gesehen wird und was versteckt ist, aber immer noch im Unterbewusstsein herumschwirrt.

“UnnDerr” wurde von Lasse Ballade produziert und mit einem Cover-Artwork von Anders Kidmose ausgestattet.

Die Progressive Metal-Band IOTUNN hat mit “Kinship” am 25. Oktober 2024 ein neues Album veröffentlicht. Das nach “Access All Worlds” (2021) zweite Album der Dänen erzählt die Geschichte eines prähistorischen Stamm.

“Alles ist miteinander verbunden, alles hat Auswirkungen, und wir alle müssen unseren Weg zu unserem wahren Selbst und zu wahren Freiheiten in unseren Entscheidungen in dieser Verflechtung von allem finden“, erklärt Sänger Jón Aldará. “Das Album erforscht Themen wie Konformität oder das Verfolgen des eigenen Weges und die Konsequenzen, die die eigenen Entscheidungen für Beziehungen haben. Es ist auch eine Betrachtung der Geist-Körper-Verbindung; insbesondere im Hinblick darauf, wie man mit sich selbst interagiert, wie man von den Bereichen des Lebens und der Interaktion mit der Natur beeinflusst und kontrolliert wird. All dies beeinflusst Ihre Identität, Ihre Entscheidungen und Ihre Individualität.“

Nun hat die Band auch ein Video zu “Earth To Sky”  veröffentlicht. Vorab teilte die progressive Metal-Band auch Clips zu  “Iridescent Way”, “Mistland“, “I Feel the Night” und ein “Twilight”.

“Kinship” wurde von Jacob Hansen in den Hansen Studios gemixt und gemastert, während das Cover-Artwork von Saprophial stammt.
