Die Psychedelic Rock-Band SUMMER OF HATE hat die Veröffentlichung ihres neuen Werks „Blood & Honey“ für 30. Januar 2026 angekündigt. Erscheinen wird das Doppel-Album via Tee Pee Records.

Die Rock-Band ROXTON um Sänger, Gitarrist und Songwriter Max Roxton hat eine neue Single geteilt: „21st Century Radio“ gibt es als u.a. als Stream bei YouTube. In dem Stück erzählt der Frontmann seinen eigenen musikalischen Werdegang von den 90ern bis heute – inklusive des Traums diese Leidenschaft professionell auszuüben. Der Track ist die letzte Auskopplung vor dem Release des nächsten Studioalbums, das am 21. November 2025 erscheinen wird.

Darüber hinaus ist „Revival“ u.a. als Video bei YouTube zu sehen. Mit dem Stück will die Gruppe eine ganz einfache Botschaft vermitteln: Es geht um menschlichen Zusammenhalt, den ROXTON im Spirit der 80er Jahre für sich entdecken.

Die Nummer folgt auf die Tracks „Moments“ sowie „Heavy“, welcher als Audiostream u.a. via soundcloud verfügbar ist.

Darüber hinaus kann man sich die Nummer „Bottoms Up“ als Lyric-Video bei YouTube ansehen. Auch den Song „Crisis Or Game“ gibt es auf einigen Streaming-Plattformen zu hören.

Zur vorherigen Single „All In Vain“ haben ROXTON zudem ein Musikvideo produziert.

„All In Vain“ wurde von Max Roxton selbst produziert und setzt sich inhaltlich kritisch mit einer „macht- und wachstumsorientierten globalen Politik“ auseinander. Das Stück ist der erste Vorbote des zweiten Studioalbums, für das allerdings noch kein Erscheinungstermin bekannt gegeben wurde.

Auch 2026 geht das EASTER CROSS FESTIVAL in eine neue Runde. Stattfinden wird das Indoor-Event am 4. und 5. April 2026 in der Neckarhalle in Oberndorf am Neckar. Tickets gibt es im Vorverkauf für 84,90€ zzgl. Gebühren über die offizielle Festival-Website. Tagestickets schlagen mit je 54,90€ zzgl. Gebühren zu Buche.

Mit der Bestätigung von IGNITE haben die Veranstalter jetzt das Line-up komplettiert. Zuvor gab man mit SAMURAI PIZZA CATS sowie STAIN THE CANVAS zwei weitere Acts bekannt.

Eine zweite Bandwelle hat außerdem J.B.O., INFECTED RAIN, BUTCHER BABIES sowie STEPFATHER FRED für das Event enthüllt. Dagegen mussten CYPECORE ihre Teilnahme leider absagen.

Auftreten werden 2026 des Weiteren TBS, RAGE, THE BROWNING, PARASITE INC., NECROTTED, DEFOCUS sowie THE DEFECT. Weitere Bestätigungen stehen noch aus, sollen aber in den Monaten bis zum Festival folgen.

„Flowers From Exile“ war damals 2009 das vierte Album des luxemburgischen Projektes ROME, welches nach drei überraschend erfolgreichen CDs vom schwedischen Kult-Label Cold Meat Industry zu Trisol wechselte. Damit einher ging ein geschmeidiger Stilwechsel vom Anfangs noch deutlich martialisch Post Industrial geprägten Sound, hin in mehr songorientierte akustischen Singer- & Songwriter-Gefilde.Trotzdem blieb dabei die dunkle Grundierung erhalten und auch wurde der melancholische Neo Folk weiterhin mit atmosphärischen Sounds & Samples dezent verwoben. Ein absolutes Pfund ist natürlich die charismatisch-eindrückliche Stimme von Jerome Reuter, welche zwischen Pathos, Chanson, Folk, Postpunk und Pop sehr sonor und variable klingt. Ebenso originell wie erfrischend für dieses Genre war das zentrale Thema des Albums, das sich dem spanischen Bürgerkrieg und insbesondere den sogenannten internationalen Brigaden widmete, die auf Seiten der Republikaner gegen die Nationalisten kämpften. Dieser zwischen 1936 bis 1939 währende Bürgerkrieg ist inzwischen leider fast völlig aus dem Gedächtnis der Welt verdrängt, obwohl er ja damals so etwas wie ein Stellvertreter-Krieg zwischen dem Kommunismus und Faschismus war. Wer die Geschichte jedoch kennt, wird inzwischen längst fatale Parallelen zum aktuellen Ukraine-Konflikt erkennen. Denn was seiner Zeit letztendlich in den Zweiten Weltkrieg mündete, kann auch heute zum nächsten Weltenbrand führen und ist ja eigentlich schon auf dem besten Wege dahin! Nicht umsonst haben sich ROME im Ukraine-Krieg deutlich positioniert, indem sie 2023 ihr Album „Gates Of Europa“ der Ukraine zur Seite gestellt haben und dort schon mehrmals aufgetreten sind. Doch zurück zu „Flowers From Exile“, welches gerade in einer bearbeiteten bzw. Revisited Version neu veröffentlicht wurde. Nun gelten ja ROME allgemein schon als sehr veröffentlichungsfreudig und gefühlt erscheinen 5 Tonträger pro Jahr von ihnen (zum Teil zu recht exorbitanten Preisen), aber scheinbar ist der „Hunger“ nach neuen Material der zahlreichen Fans immer noch nicht gestillt. In wie weit jetzt die Neubearbeitung des vierten Albums notwendig war oder Sinn macht, kann und möchte ich nicht beurteilen, zumal das Original-Album immer noch als das beste Werk von ROME gilt und schon bei der Erstveröffentlichung phantastisch klang. Im Grunde sind die Veränderungen der neuen Revisited-Ausgabe marginal und neben dem neuen Remastering ist der Klang noch etwas weicher, wie differenzierter geschliffen worden. Das kann man machen, muss man aber auch nicht mögen, denn so oder so sind die Songs und das ganze Album an sich einfach nur großartig – ein zeitloses Meisterwerk sozusagen! Im Moment sind ROME in Deutschland auf ihrer 20jährigen „One Fire Worldwide“-Jubiläums-Tour zu erleben, was man sich nicht entgehen lassen sollte! (Marco Fiebag)

Diese griechische Band gehört für mich seit Jahren zu eine der unterbewertetsten überhaupt, spielen die Mannen eine wundervolle Sehnsuchtsmusik zwischen dunklem Alternative Pop, New Wave, sanftem Post Punk, Pop, 80s und elegisch progressiven 70s-Sound. Ich möchte erst gar nicht zu viele Vergleiche bemühen, aber wer auf melancholisch, melodiöse Art Pop/Wave/Post Punk-Sounds abfährt, mit sphärischer Elektronik und einem brüchig, emotionalen Sehnsuchtsgesang, der ist hier verdammt nochmal sehr richtig. Der gemeinsame Nenner sind einfach diese fragilen, sehr berührenden Soundscapes, die hier und da doch sehr in einsam urbanen Schmerzthemen rühren. Synthetisch tanzbare Beats, plinkernde Wave-Gitarren, alternative Stilmittel, die auch Hörer zwischen Sigur Ros und Radiohead nicht verschrecken sollten, findest Du im Sound der in London stationierten Band. Als würden Ultravox, OMD mit modernen  Bands wie M83 oder benannten Radiohead im besten Austausch wundervolle Songs schreiben – die mal vertrackt – dann wieder hoch melodisch tanzbaren, effektiv simplen Mitteln und exaltiertem Gesang ins empfindsame Herz treffen. Genau diese kleinen verschrobenen, etwas experimentelleren Songs wie der Opener ‚Falcon‘ (erinnert mich an kosmischen Solo-Arbeiten von Thom Yorke) sind die perfekten Kontraste zu diesen dunkel-schimmernden elektronischen Wave Hits wie ‚Opia‘, das nur sehnsüchtig treibende, zu Tränen rührende ‚Diamonds‘ und die wunderschöne Single ‚Reciprocate‘. Wenn gerade hier diese effizient eingesetzten Post Punk Gitarren-Akkorde mit viel Feingefühl für Atmosphäre den Beat auffüllen, wird es richtig schön romantisch und perlend. ‚Prism‘ ist einfach nur wundervoll zerbrechlich, perlendes Piano, Flächen und dieser wehmütige Tune, der an einem kratzt und diese Art Kopfkino produziert. Es sitzt hier jeder Ton: Elektronik, nächtliche Einsamkeit/Isolation, Melancholie und diese Art Pop-Verständnis bringen es einfach und Du tanzt wie von allein dazu. Feine Platte erneut und ELECTRIC LITANY setzen erneut eine feine Duftnote im schimmernden Abendrot, die perfekt zu den bereits starken Vorgängern passt.  Sehr spezielle Musik mit emotionalen Vocals, nächtlich anmutenden Abfahrten und einer Minimalistik, die effizient ohne zu viel künstlichen Ballast zu berühren weiß.

but Goldies“ fiel mir hier sofort ein, als die FOREIGNER Live CD vom Label aus Hamburg im Postkasten lag. Der Gig darauf ist aus 2015 vom iTunes Festival in London im neu gemasterten, glasklaren Sound. Dabei gab es dies Jahr schon einmal die „Live in Chicago“ mit 13 Songs, aber das macht bei den britisch amerikanischen Rock Dinos natürlich gar nichts aus. Die könnten wohl auch, wie viele Ambient Künstler, jeden Monat eine Produktion, egal welcher Art,  veröffentlichen. Material gibt es hier sicher genug. Die atmosphärische Acoustic CD vom letzten Jahr habe ich hier auch noch im Player liegen. Foreigner wurden 1976 in New York von IAN McDONALD ( Ex Mitglied von KING CRIMSON), MICK JONES ( Ex Gitarrist bei GEORGE HARRISON und PETER FRAMPTON), Schlagzeuger DENNIS ELLIOT ( Ex IF Drummer), AL GREENWOOD am Keyboard, ED GAGLIARDI am Bass und Sänger LOU GRAMM der auch noch Soloplatten, wie z.B. das Topalbum „Ready or Not“ veröffentlich hatte, gegründet. Im März 1977 erschien ihr Debütalbum Namens „FOREIGNER“, das allein schon mal 5 Millionen mal verkauft wurde. Allein die Liste ihrer ehemaligen Mitglieder füllt schon mehrere Seiten und aktuell ist nur noch MICK JONES als Urmitglied dabei. Relativ neu dabei sind Gesang/Gitarre – LUIS MALDONADO, Bass – JEFF PILSON, Drums – CHRIS FRAZIER, Keys – MICHAEL BLUESTEIN und Gitarre – BRUCE WATSON. Der AOR angehauchte melodiöse (Hardrock) Rocksound der teils mit Blues und Pop kreiert wurde, feierte zwischen 1977 und 1988 seine größten Erfolge und weltweit wurden über 80 Millionen Tonträger verkauft und natürlich hat die Gruppe viele World-Touren gespielt, aber bei ihren mega Erfolgen hätten FOREIGNER wahrscheinlich auch im Weltall spielen können. Der erste Gig war übrigens 1977 in Washington D.C. kurz nach ihrer ersten Platte. Zur neuen Live CD kann man eigentlich nur konstatieren, das FOREIGNER seit über 40 Jahren die weltweiten Fans begeistern und das die Gruppe die allgemeine Geschichte der Rockmusik maßgeblich mit geprägt hat und das alles merkt man auch bei den London Live-Aufnahmen auf dieser CD. Die energiegeladene Performance mit allen Klassikern wie „Urgent“, „Hot Blooded“, „I Want to know what Love is“, „Cold as Ice“, „Double Vision“ oder „Juke Box Hero“ und „That was Yesterday“ zeigt die Band in voller musikalischer Höchstform und präsentiert die mitreißende Show und großartige Set-List mit einer leidenschaftlichen Energie, die ihres gleichen sucht. FOREIGNER haben ihren so ganz eigenen Sound geschaffen, der schon Generationen von Musikfans abgeholt hat. Der Live Lieblings-Track vom „Boss“ MICK JONES  ist übrigens „“Feels like the first Time“ und ich werde mir nun mal die DVD zu dem Konzert geben.

Berlin has long been a city of reinvention, a crucible for the displaced and the daring. Into this restless landscape steps Pretty Average, a band that defies its modest moniker. Frontwoman Candy, armed with a voice that sounds lived-in and unvarnished, leads a project that thrives on contradiction: immediate yet deliberate, raw yet articulate. Together with longtime collaborator Sergi, with whom she’s made music for over fifteen years, Pretty Average draws strength from endurance, experience, and the stubborn belief that imperfection is its own form of truth.

Their latest single, “Everybody’s Watching,” pierces through the glossy veneer of modern exhibitionism. “Everybody’s Watching points out the obsession we all have to behave differently in front of others, the pressure of being constantly exposed,” the band explains. “This behaviour is intensified because of social media and all the fake lives many people are showing in it. How this made up image of ourselves affects us in our real lives and integrates toxic behavior in our relationships because of it.” The song narrates “a break up of a couple that never loved each other although they always looked great in pictures,” they add. “Being exposed doesn’t bring you joy. Pretending to have it all—but we are all pretty average at the end.”

Musically, the track bristles with the tension between restraint and release as it channels the Velvet Underground, Lou Reed and Lydia Lunch. Candy’s voice cracks through distortion like a flare in fog, steady and human amid the mechanical churn of guitars. The sound feels born of the rehearsal room—air thick with feedback and persistence—yet sharpened by the band’s years spent absorbing Berlin’s underground pulse. There’s a palpable sense of motion, as if each note is pushing against the weight of constant surveillance itself.

Beneath the surface, the lyrics pulse with weariness and resolve. The song tells a lonely yet lucid story, rejecting performative heartbreak and the façade of perfection. It’s a quiet confrontation with the world’s demand to perform happiness, an act of rebellion through sincerity.

Directed by Doria de Burch, the accompanying video visualizes that sense of exposure with eerie precision. Shot in a shaky, almost voyeuristic style, it resembles unearthed surveillance footage—grainy, detached, and uncomfortably intimate. The band becomes both observer and observed, dissolving into the anonymous blur of city life as the lens tracks their movements like a security camera gone rogue (in other words, a smartphone). The footage mirrors the song’s critique of how constant observation corrodes authenticity. It’s performative, but a performance we’re pressured to consent to by the algorithm and TOS, where every unguarded moment becomes public property.

Pretty Average’s forthcoming album, The Highs and Lows of Being Pretty Average, recorded with Ghost Palace Records, expands upon this vision. “In the era of short cuts to achieve success in one’s artistic career,” the band says, “we present this compilation of long songs that disturb the methods of how music is commercialised today. A note on dying collective hedonism. We invite you to delve into our catchy yet dark, very extended love songs which each reflect a particular hanging moment in our lives and invite you to levitate in it.”

The record, they note, was “recorded with free spirit,” a deliberate counterpoint to the algorithmic slickness dominating the industry. It’s a work that celebrates human imperfection and rejects the notion that immediacy must come at the cost of depth. In a cultural moment obsessed with optimization, Pretty Average offers an antidote: patience, persistence, and unvarnished honesty.

Why do we love our monsters? From the masked stalker to the cursed videotape, the cenobite, the count, and the corrupted youth—these villains refuse to die because they reveal something truer than heroes ever could. They are our hunger, our fear, our reflection flickering in the dark. Music, too, works this way: it slips beneath our skin, whispering in frequencies that logic can’t exorcise. The right song can haunt like a nightmare, looping endlessly in the mind long after silence falls. In HÖR, ORR doesn’t just summon these figures—he becomes them, building an altar of beats and ghosts to the villains who taught us how to feel alive in the face of terror.

HÖR, the year’s final exhalation from ORR, feels less like closure than a dark communion. Following a prolific 2025 defined by a twelve-single cascade, the artist’s latest EP condenses that manic productivity into something sharp and spectral: six tracks that dissect horror as language. This is a record obsessed with presence and absence, where each song drags its ghost through the closet skeletons of post-punk and breakbeat until it flickers between pop and experiment, pleasure and panic.

sadako 1998 opens like a spirit half-trapped between channels: glacial guitar shimmer, drowned whispers, and the ethereal murmur of alt-model Apologygrl, whose breath becomes both invocation and exorcism. It’s dream pop turned haunting, a transmission from a CRT afterlife. Channeling Ringu’s vengeful Sadako Yamamura, the song translates her curse into pure frequency—revenge reborn as feedback, her ghostly image shimmering forever in digital afterglow.

myers 1978 stalks in with taut, minimal percussion and murmured menace—a song that feels like watching your own reflection breathe back at you. ORR’s vocals, more sigh than statement, collapse into the drum’s cold precision, evoking Michael Myers’ emotionless gaze. It’s the sound of inevitability: the slow, rhythmic advance of something you can’t reason with, only run from until the track cuts to black.

If the opening tracks linger like phantoms, vlad 1448 bares its fangs. The classic organ motif is stripped to bare iron and jangly guitars, bent into a serrated post-punk dirge. A nod to the myth of Count Vlad Dracula, it revels in gothic decay and sensual corruption—immortality as addiction, desire as disease. Every note drips with the kind of elegance that only centuries of ruin can refine.

ghostface 2000 disorients entirely, collapsing its own structure in bursts of muffled samples and detuned percussion, as if the song is being murdered mid-playback. It mirrors the taunting meta-horror of Scream’s Ghostface—a killer who hides behind irony and pop references, turning culture itself into a weapon. Every glitch lands like a knife slash, every dropout a moment of gleeful dismemberment.

pinhead 1987 offers the record’s most unexpected pleasure: a warped dark synthpop lullaby, its crystalline tones buckling under waves of distortion. Echoing Hellraiser’s high priest of pain, the track teases transcendence through torment—beauty nailed to the cross of digital decay. Pleasure and pain entwine in its circuitry, the melody itself writhing in exquisite suffering.

Closer billyboy 1971, riffing on A Clockwork Orange, hammers through frenetic drums and whispered mania like The Prodigy and Nine Inch Nails. It ends the EP like a nightmare cut short by daylight—heart pounding, head ringing, no resolution in sight. Echoing Alex DeLarge’s violent charisma, it’s the final act of a symphony for sociopaths: the laughter of youth echoing down an empty underpass.

ORR never leans on camp or nostalgia; instead, they conjure dread through minimalism: the creak of repetition, the human breath behind machinery. HÖR is music that sounds unfinished by design—as if haunted by what’s missing, or perhaps by what refuses to leave.

HÖR is a requiem for a breakout year, a curtain call soaked in cinematic unease, and a love letter written in blood.

In the end, this dark communion is less about horror than recognition—the moment you meet the monster’s gaze and realize it looks back with your own eyes. ORR’s work lingers there, in that terrible intimacy between fear and fascination, where the music doesn’t just haunt—it inherits you.

Other Side of Eternity, the new single from Canada’s Violentene, begins like a transmission from some distant, dying frequency; a slow surge of emotion rendered in steel and sighs. Violentene build their latest hymn on the bones of analogue machines, where Roland M’s Moogs and Korgs hum like cathedral organs in exile. His production feels both intimate and immense, as though recorded at the threshold between dream and dissolution.

Mvrijo’s voice glides through the current with unhurried grace. She doesn’t plead or perform; she inhabits the moment, breathing warmth into the circuitry’s chill. Her tone suggests someone standing before an open door, aware that crossing it means leaving everything behind. The lyrics move through cycles of ache and absolution; pain transfigured into peace, darkness reimagined as release. When she sings of meeting “on the other side of eternity,” it lands less as farewell than as an invocation, the faint shimmer of faith surviving despair.

The music feels sculpted from longing and light decay. The rhythm trudges onward like memory itself…steady, sorrowful, unstoppable. Each synth phrase folds in on itself, echoing down corridors of recollection until it becomes a pulse of pure feeling. This is the architecture of isolation made melodic, the sound of love surviving through static.

R. Marckwort’s video translates that fragile duality into movement through a landscape both metropolis and necropolis; a living city haunted by its own remains. A lone woman wanders its desolate avenues, clutching a photograph as though it were her final link to the living world. She passes through streets that once breathed with promise, now hollowed by distance and time; as  glass towers rise like mausoleums.

Her journey is unhurried, elegiac. She drifts between the living and the lost, crossing bridges that lead from memory to forgetting. Each frame feels suspended in perpetual twilight, where the past and present dissolve into one another. The city hums faintly around her, indifferent yet alive, as if mourning its own persistence.

Marckwort’s direction captures the paradox of existence within decay: the quiet beauty of continuing to walk when all paths lead to oblivion. Together, song and film form a requiem for connection in a world half-buried by its own progress.

IIn their new single “Cinders,” Tears for the Dying turn desolation into defiance, delivering a dirge that smolders beneath the ash. The Southern Gothic duo—Adria Stembridge and Page Dukes—have long lingered between post-punk’s skeletal austerity and deathrock’s florid decay, but here their fire burns for something more profound. “Cinders” is a hymn for the fallen and the faithful alike—an elegy for those who gave everything so others might go on, a salute to the ones who stood against the dark so the rest of us could keep fighting toward the light.

The song opens like a confession muttered in the smoke of a burned cathedral: the drum machine stutters like a pulse gone weak, synth bass hums with funereal gravity, and Stembridge’s voice hovers at the precipice between grief and fury. Her refrain, This Earth, there is that which deserves life, becomes a mantra recited through clenched teeth, invoking the words of Mahmoud Darwish’s 1986 poem On This Earth. Translated from Arabic, it becomes less a line than a lifeline: a fragile assertion that meaning still flickers even in the heart of annihilation.

In the verses, Stembridge sketches vignettes of a people caught in the machinery of genocide: boots echoing through stairwells, gunfire below, the sickly light beneath a door. Each image lands with the stark finality of reportage, yet her delivery is elegiac, imbued with the fatal glamour of the Southern gothic tradition: decaying beauty, faith corrupted, love turning to martyrdom. Dukes’s guitar, all serrated shimmer and feedback haze, sounds like memory dissolving into static. Together, they conjure an atmosphere where despair becomes holy…a candle lit for what’s already lost. There’s a tragic nobility to that gesture, a sense of standing upright as floodwaters rise.

More than just a timely protest song, written in an era that seems to grow darker with each passing day, “Cinders” is a poignant Gothic Rock requiem—a meditation on survival steeped in the cost of endurance. By its final moments, the returning refrain sheds its plea and transforms into a vow, a declaration that even amid the rubble, life endures and insists on being seen.

“Cinders” is not a song of consolation but of remembrance—a lament for the fallen and a spark for those who remain. It stands as both elegy and call to endurance, sung to honor the dead and steel the living.

Somewhere between Studio 54’s mirrored ecstasy and CBGB’s cigarette-stained nihilism, Pink Stiletto walks in: heels first, heart pounding, synths ablaze.

The brainchild of Valery Kvochkova, Pink Stiletto channels the fractured glamour of ZE Records, where punk’s attitude collided with disco’s pulse. The name itself captures the project’s fixation on wackiness, sensuality, and danger, a tongue-in-cheek homage to the flamboyant spirit of the early ’80s underground. It’s a world of glossy absurdity and divine sleaze, where beauty and rebellion strut side by side.

Do It For Me and Amour Finale, Pink Stiletto’s latest double single release, extends this vision. The former interrogates ambition and conformity, peeling back the glitter to reveal the corrosion beneath modern success.

Do It For Me opens with a bassline that feels like a runway strut in a broken mirror, part catwalk, part Cold War transmission. Sequencers twitch like fluorescent nerves while the rhythm locks into a hypnotic groove. The sound evokes Gina X and Tubeway Army, with an echo of Cristina’s decadent irony and even a hint of A Little Bit Alexis. Every element feels deliberate yet deranged, a balancing act between self-parody and genuine pop seduction. Kvochkova’s voice inhabits that liminal space between command and confession, broadcasting desire like a coded signal.

Amour Finale, sung in French, turns love into both poison and cure…an endless sting at the edge of time, where devotion and dissolution blur together. Both songs add layers to the project’s aesthetic of elegant decay, where glamour becomes a kind of rebellion.

Pink Stiletto thrives in contradiction. It is both sincere and sardonic, grotesque and gorgeous, pulsing with the same neurotic energy that once animated the New York underground.  New Wave’s spirit never truly died. It simply changed its outfit and turned up the volume.

Co-produced with Russian collaborator Yuri Todorov (Lode Runner, Фак Б), Do It For Me fuses analogue grime with digital sharpness. Its palette is unapologetically steeped in 80s tones yet sharpened by modern sensibility; mutated nostalgia filtered through contemporary chaos. The result feels both anachronistic and urgent, a mirrorball spinning through static. It’s music for people who dance with one eye on the exit sign.

In 1980, Telekon arrived like an electrical storm: a stark, neon-lit meditation on technology and alienation. It was Gary Numan’s third consecutive UK number one and the closing act of what he calls the machine phase: the triptych of Replicas, The Pleasure Principle, and Telekon that defined a generation of electronic music. In the decades since, its influence has spread through the circuitry of popular culture, resonating in the works of artists from Prince to Trent Reznor to Lady Gaga.

“Telekon has always held a rather warm place for me whenever I look back at the early years,” Numan reflects. “I was very proud of it. I thought the production had moved up a gear for one thing. I was also proud of the fact that I’d not gone the commercial route and tried to repeat the formula and sound of ‘Cars’ and ‘Are ‘Friends’ Electric?’ I was still trying to move forward, find new sounds. It was a reasonably bold stance I think, to not follow a safer, more formulaic path, as I suddenly had a lot to lose after the success of the year before.”

Numan’s instinct to move forward remains intact. This year, Beggars Banquet opens his archives once more for Telekon’s 45th anniversary: an expanded reissue featuring four previously unreleased recordings, including Like A B-Film, an unearthed relic from the original sessions. Early versions of Please Push No More, Aircrash Bureau, and I’m An Agent reveal a restless mind still at work, testing limits even within success.

Like A B-Film channels Are Friends Electric? and Films in its sound, with a curious rap flow over his unique synths. While similar to contemporary Numan tracks of this era, it’s an excellent find and a treat for longtime fans of Numan’s early sound.

The new editions have been remastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road, with redesigned artwork by Michael Speed, long a visual collaborator with Numan and Beggars. The deluxe double LP glitters in “rainbow sparkle” vinyl and comes with a replica of the original 1980 tour booklet; a portal back to an era when analogue machines hummed like living things.

Perhaps most intriguing, however, is the sustainable reissue: Beggars Banquet’s partnership with Good Neighbor Music introduces a new era of eco-conscious record manufacturing. Pressed on Good Neighbor’s patented PET material: an injection-molded, fully recyclable alternative to traditional PVC, the 1000-copy limited edition represents a rare convergence of nostalgia and innovation.

“Beggars Group is on a mission to cut our carbon footprint in half by 2030, and bold innovations like Good Neighbor’s record-making process are exactly how we get there,” says Ian Stanton, Head of Sustainability at Beggars Group. “We’re proud to be working with them, and who better to launch this future-facing chapter with than Gary Numan, an artist who’s been such a defining part of our journey?!”

Numan’s music has long prophesied the uneasy bond between man and machine. Forty-five years on, Telekon continues to look forward, a blueprint retooled for the world it once warned us about. The future, as ever, hums in his key.

The Telekon (45th Anniversary Expanded Edition) arrives in multiple formats, including a deluxe double LP pressed on “rainbow sparkle” vinyl, newly remastered at Abbey Road by Geoff Pesche. The expanded reissue features four previously unreleased recordings—among them the unearthed relic “Like A B-Film.” Redesigned artwork by longtime collaborator Michael Speed completes the package, alongside a replica of the original 1980 tour booklet.

The limited-edition “rainbow sparkle” vinyl will be released on 12 December 2025 via Beggars Banquet, with the standard 2 LP black vinyl and CD formats following on 30 January 2026. Both are available now for pre-order from Gary Numan’s official store and Rough Trade.

Once again, the man who taught machines to sing proves that the signal never fades—it only evolves.

Vanity is a vicious god. From the flicker of the ring light to the glow of the scalpel, we kneel before its altar—bleaching, slicing, and filtering our way toward transcendence. The pursuit of beauty promises immortality, but always collects its toll in flesh. On their latest single, More Ephemerol turns that worship into wicked satire. “Glamour Victim” is both a pop song and a blood offering—an ecstatic hymn to self-destruction disguised as self-improvement.

“It’s actually one of the only campy things we’ve ever put out,” the band admits. “Aside from maybe the recent ‘Last Wave Calling’ video—but this is much campier than that, in my opinion.” That gleeful self-awareness oozes from every latex seam of Glamour Victim, transforming grotesquery into glitter and terror into theatre. Self-directed by More Ephemerol’s Chad Fjerstad, the video revels in its gruesome sense of humor. With outlandish practical makeup effects by Heather Galipo—a death-rock polymath known for her work with CrowJane, Egrets on Ergot, Prissy Whip, and Bustié—the film plays like a midnight screening of Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance filtered through a funhouse mirror. “The last music video that the director did prior to this was for GWAR,” the Fjerstad jokes. “If that tells you anything.”

Visually, the piece captures The Elephant Man’s haunting tableau of deformity and spectacle as refracted through The Substance’s surgical surrealism. Models parade mutated bodies down a sterile runway, their latex and scars gleaming under fluorescent light, while a crowd of black-clad onlookers—some drawn from the L.A. underground scene (Dildox, Scimitar, Kontravoid, and more)—watch in morbid fascination.  It’s a grotesque fashion show where transformation becomes punishment, and glamour decays into fleshly ruin.

Musically, Glamour Victim swaps solemnity for sashay and swagger. Beneath its glinting layers of synthpop bounce and slick, danceable percussion lies a wry smirk—a sound that lands somewhere between “Sound of the Crowd” by The Human League and “He Saw the Light” by Martin Dupont. The song’s refrains shimmer and sneer in equal measure, marrying irony with irresistible rhythm. It’s sardonic, stylish, and impossibly fun—proof that More Ephemerol can dissect our cultural neuroses while still filling the dancefloor.

Depeche Mode have surprised fans with the sudden release of “In The End,” a previously unreleased song from the Memento Mori sessions. Arriving just ahead of the band’s upcoming concert film Depeche Mode: M—which opens in cinemas and IMAX on October 28—the track offers a final meditation on the era’s themes of loss, endurance, and the fragile beauty of persistence.



A mid-tempo counterpart to “Ghosts Again,” the track pairs Dave Gahan’s cool, rhythmic delivery with dirgeful synths, slick percussion, and an undercurrent of icy organ tones that echo through the mix like a souflul requiem. Recorded during the 2022 Memento Mori sessions but ultimately left off the final tracklist, “In The End” first appeared unexpectedly over the closing credits of Depeche Mode: M during its world premiere at Tribeca Festival earlier this year—immediately sparking fan speculation about a wider release. Now officially available worldwide as of October 24, the studio version serves as a haunting epilogue to Memento Mori’s meditations on mortality, regret, and renewal.



“In The End” leads a set of four Memento Mori outtakes—alongside “Survive,” “Life 2.0,” and“Give Yourself To Me”—to be issued as bonus material with the forthcoming Memento Mori: Mexico City live album, out this December via Columbia Records. The release coincides with Depeche Mode: M, director Fernando Frías’s cinematic chronicle of the band’s three sold-out nights at Mexico City’s Foro Sol Stadium. Expanding Memento Mori’s meditations on mortality, the film intertwines live performances with evocative imagery inspired by Mexico’s Day of the Dead—blending scenes of ritual, devotion, and cultural remembrance into a striking visual requiem.

Both the Memento Mori: Mexico City live album and Depeche Mode: M will arrive on December 5, with the film available on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital platforms the same day.

Wir wollen Songs schreiben, die wir selbst gerne hören. Wir versuchen einfach, der Death-Metal-Welt etwas Wertvolles zu geben. Die sogenannte „Deluxe Edition“ trägt sodann den passenden Titel: „Everyone’s STILL A Murderer“ – verändert hat sich schließlich nichts.

Die Menschheit hat weiterhin Blut an den Händen, während TO THE GRAVE abermals kein Blatt vor den Mund nehmen und die Handbremse nur dann anziehen, um uns mit tonnenschweren Slam-Parts gegen die Wand laufen zu lassen. Ähnlich wie auf dem Vorgänger wagen sich die Australier häufiger in klassische Death Metal-Gefilde vor, was überdies das gelungene CANNIBAL CORPSE-Cover „Death Walking Terror“ belegt.

Auflockerung bietet „Still“ vor allem auf Detailebene
Ansonsten balancieren die Stücke zwischen kurz und knackig sowie mächtig walzend. „Sawed Off“ als Vertreter der letztgenannten Kategorie mag nicht außergewöhnlich originell sein, erfüllt seinen Zweck als schleppend-groovendes Monstrum allerdings anstandslos. Die fast unbemerkt eingestreuten Scratches sind derweil ein nettes Detail am Rande.

Eine kompakt gehaltene Komposition à la „Forced Diet Reassignment“ überrascht hingegen durch zahlreiche Haken und Tempowechsel. Davon gibt es sonst nicht immer übermäßig viele, wobei zumindest „Hunt The Hunters“ mittels eines gelungenen Solos etwas Auflockerung beisteuert.

TO THE GRAVE gelingt mit „Still“ eine passende Erweiterung des „Everyone’s A Murderer“-Kosmos
Somit ist „Still“ tatsächlich eine gelungene Ergänzung zu „Everyone’s A Murderer“, welche aber Kritikern der stilistischen Entwicklung TO THE GRAVEs keinesfalls den Wind aus den Segeln nehmen wird. Dafür ist das zusätzliche Material zu ähnlich gelagert, die klassischen Death-Metal-Einflüsse in Songs wie „DNA (Do Not Amputate)“ letztlich zu präsent. Indem die Band weiterhin an ihrem gewünschten Klangbild schraubt, bleibt also eigentlich alles beim Alten, so kurios das klingen mag.

BATTLE BEAST haben ihr neues Album veröffentlicht: „Steelbound“ erschien am 17. Oktober 2025. Zum Release gab es ein weiteren Video zu „Twilight Cabaret„.

Außerdem gibt es die vierte Single, ein Video zum Track „Angel Of Midnight“:

Anfang August teilte die Band mit „Here We Are“ einen weiteren Song ihres siebten Studioalbums:

Im Juni präsentierten BATTLE BEAST einen Clip zum Titelsong „Steelbound„. Anfang Mai stellte die Band den neuen Song „Last Goodbye“ mit einem Musikvideo bei YouTube vor.

Eine weitere Headline-Tournee durch Europa haben BATTLE BEAST schon vor einiger Zeit angekündigt. Station machen werden die Finnen dabei auch in Hamburg, Berlin, Filderstadt, Wiesbaden, Hannover, Leipzig, Nürnberg, München, Saarbrücken und Oberhausen. In Österreich gibt es eine Show in Wien, in der Schweiz steht Pratteln auf dem Programm.

Im Vorprogramm mit dabei sind DOMINUM sowie MAJESTICA.

BATTLE BEAST wollen auf der Tour auch neue Songs präsentieren, wie Bassist Eero Sipilä erklärt – derzeit arbeite man am siebten Album:

„Wir brennen darauf, mit den neuen Songs auf Tour zu gehen und allen zu zeigen, woran wir gearbeitet haben. Alles an dieser Tour wird größer, besser und mehr sein, als wir es je zuvor getan haben.
